Mystic Quest music was so ahead of it’s time man.
Ah yes, the game with a soundtrack that was infinitely more kickass than it had to be for an entry level RPG. Beginners at least learned RPG music can be beautiful and metal as hell.
This game introduced me to the Final Fantasy series I have finished all of them to date even 14 as far as it is now. I still love this game though it definetly had its charm and wasn't even bad, easy yes not bad though.
The music was the only reason to play the game.

One of my fav songs of all time. I used to play this game through as a kid JUST TO HEAR THIS SONG. In 1992 that was the only way to hear it!

This has always been one of my all-time favorites and you absolutely nailed it! I know FFMQ doesn't get a lot of love, but man oh man the soundtrack of that game had some sweet and memorable tunes! So happy to see - and hear - you covering it!

There's so many aspects that go into making a great game....This game had the best soundtrack to me at the time and while it's gameplay was lacking I still played this game a ton just to hear the soundtrack. This is an amazing cover by the way.

Well it was created as an entry level rpg for the west before Square realized we actually liked them. Such good music in a sadly forgotten game. It's one of the oldest one's they've never rereleased yet.
@wnc817 This is true, even the original FF was released 5 years before Mystic Quest. They may have just of not kept up with western RPG's at the time. Wizardry was fun, but not really for a beginner. I remember spending most of my time creating a second party to go rescue the first lol.

This game will likely never see the light of day in a rerelease, but if it did, this version of this iconic final dungeon theme should absolutely be used. Great job! And you extended it from the original in a fantastic way.

I remixed this to include a sample from Duke Nukem at the beginning, at the apex of that first riff I added "Let's Rock!!" :D And it's awesome! Damn this is so cool.

Ah, Mystic Quest, the black sheep of the FF series. I first played it upon its release not long after beating FF2 (US) and found this game to be somewhat of a disappointment in the story department, but I actually liked the battle mechanics (particularly the way in which the almost always static monster sprites from that time period would actually change and enemies would look angrier and more haggard as their HP dwindled). And, of course, the music was and remains some of my favorite from that era. Doom Castle is epic af and you did an amazing job of bringing to life how I heard the song in my head as a kid. Great work!
This is my childhood theme song. Just played it with some friends last week. Awesome cover bro, you're doing God's work... or at least the Crystals would be pleased. Would love to hear some more Ryuji Sasai. Treasure of the Rudras is full of great tracks. Just a thought... I'd do it myself, but I lack the equipment and ability... lol, so anywho, great stuff.
