Tim Cooper is a great teacher and in this class he really brings landscape photography to an understandable level for all.
I originally watched this probably 5 years ago, it just showed up in my utube feed and I watched it again. I have been watching photography vlogs, instruction, etc., for all these years and I can say this remains to be the clearest and most effective one of all. So glad I'm watching it again. What a great teacher Tim Cooper is!
I'm relatively new to photography, especially DSLR photography so when Tim (My favourite photographer) 'liked' 2 of my shots on Instagram, it was the biggest form of encouragement I have had!
Tim Cooper is one of the best speakers I have listened to in years, he sticks to the important points, he stops every so often to reinforce important points........A true Master Class.......
THANK YOU! B&H.......and TIM
I can only repeat what some others have said--this is the best photography tutorial I have ever watched, by far! Thank you B & H and Tim.
One of the best lectures in photography I have seen. Well done! Thank you for posting.
This is such a good video it's virtually a free mini course. Years ago I listened to it probably 5 or 6 times on my drives to work after I'd watched it. I learned as much as if I'd taken a proper course by listening a few times so I could try the techniques and remember all the info. Tim's got a real talent with explaining things.
By far one of the most informative and technique specific presentations I have seen. Kudos to B&H and many thanks to Tim Copper. Excellent and a must see for anyone interested in the art of landscape photography.
This is the best of all tutorials I have seen on this site. I am a passionate and fairly experienced landscape photographer although I had more experience with film cameras than digital till now, so I have learned masses of good information and a lot of good tips. Cooper's photos are marvelous and he's the clearest, most thorough and easy to understand instructor I've seen on B+H. Many thanks to Cooper for this wonderful class. Top stuff.
I have watched quite a few video tutorials on B & H and elsewhere. This guy's delivery and explanatory style is just about as good as any I have ever seen. Please have him back to do more , Thanks, Gary
I have been taking photographs of landscapes for years with no formal training or instruction with some beautiful results. After watching this video I realised I naturally do 90% of what Tim was talking about especially the light and changing positions suggestions. I have the coken system of filters as well as some circular polarising ones as well and was surprised to hear him say I didn't need all these filters, I find I use them a lot especially in the 'Magic Light' time of day. Great stuff Tim, I really enjoyed and got a lot out of your presentation
As an old feller Ive watched this a few times and will keep watching as its easy to forget things as one ages. I have to right it all down so I can check to see what I'm doing. Its to easy to take ones camera and start shooting to find you get home and you thought your pics looked ok but once on the computer you find it so was to high your f stop was wrong. So I thank you so much for this constant reminder which I enjoy it keeps me thinking. Regards Casper your friendly Host.
Tim, You are a master teacher!
Very few people can simplify complex things as you do. I have become your big fan after watching this video.
Thanks.

I have watched a ton of B & H Event Space lectures and this one is by far the most informative and instructive I have seen. Thank you, Tim Cooper, for really broadening my grasp on landscape photography. Excellent!
Tim Cooper's presentation is awesome. I learned a lot watching this 1.5 hr video! I have been a wannabe amateur for a few years now but some things just weren't clicking and this video put them into perspective for me. There are many "aha" moments in this video. I'll watch it again in a week or so to catch some of the aha moments I may have missed while reflecting on the previous point. Many thanks to Tim Cooper and B&H!
I have searching and watching many videos of landscape photography speech. This is the best explanation of the landscape photography. It's so worth of time. Thank you.
This is my second viewing of your great presentation. I'm leaving next week for the Colorado foliage and needed this refresher course. You teach with a calmness and sincerity that causes folks to pay attention. Hard to believe that you covered so many bases thoroughly in such a short time. Looking forward to another video from you.
Wow! Tim Cooper inspires and gives the tools to go out and create. Absolutely the best instructional and informational lecture on landscape photography.
I have been trying to understand this complex subject and I have listened to many different explanations, but the more I listened, the more it seemed to be like a black art! Then, thankfully, I happened on your talk and WOW! Suddenly it's perfectly clear. Your delivery, examples, and the structure of your talk were really well thought out. Now I can go out with a clear plan and will be able to learn from my experiences. Thanks a million.
Best video on Landscape photography I have even seen. Thank you, Tim, for a very informative talk. I have watched at least three times just so that everything is remembered.
Lots of great info that I've slowly picked up from various sources over the years, all packed into one video. Great job, guys.
complex discussion of both our vision for landscape capture and the techniques available today. Strong encouragement of seeking, watching waiting for the light having studied both the angle of light and the range your lenses and filters might give you.
Absolutely priceless: confident, knowledgeable, practical, purposeful and well presented
The best photo tutorial I have ever watched.
And your software bonus is working too!
Congratulations!
This is by far the best photography video I've seen so far! Thanks a lot!
+RoyalFlush168 Thanks for your inquiry - please contact Tim Cooper directly at timcooperphotography@mac.com.
Bravo..... This made me look at the way I shoot...went out today and used a lot of the processes that were presented. My angles were better, I moved the tripod around as I thought more about my s subject. Now I will work on the depth of field. Great job on presentation. First class by all involved.
WOW...not gonna lie. My mind was blown on how much I learned by watching this video. Depth of field explanation made my day. Thank you so much.
real actual artistic tips about landscape photography that you don't get to learn much on youtube. loved this video!
This video has answered most of the questions I wanted to know about, fantastic lets have more Tim
Thanks B&H and Tim Cooper for this eye opening lesson in landscape photography.
Great advice for everyone. It's good to hear common sense, experience and good advice at the same time. Very good tutorial for all photographers, and particularly for beginners. Light, light, always right.
Easy - Simple & Professional only at B&H. Thank you so much Tim Cooper, you are very awesome. Good lecture.
This was a really fantastic talk, and covered a lot more than I was expecting in such a short presentation. This should be the go-to video for anyone looking to get started in landscape photography! Thank you so much!
I remember watching this when I first got into landscape photography, this was very helpful and informative to me!
This is probably the best landscape photography tutorial on youtube
This was really good. It's difficult to find concise but thorough information specific to landscape. I've heard a lot of these tips before but he really brought it all together with some great examples.
So far one the best lecture I hv seen on landscape photography and about the required essentials for it... really nice
Tim - thank you very much. Absolutely loved the video and the landscapes just took my breath away!
Gorgeous.
Very informative and well thought out video. Thanks so much for taking the time.
Thanks so much. One of the best presentations on technical aspects of landscape photography I have seen. I learned a ton.
Watched a series of these now and they are far, far more instructive than the National Geographic Masters of Photography Course which I purchased.
I'm probably a bit beyond a beginner but still very much learning and this was an excellent tutorial. I don't usually watch such lengthy videos but this was very helpful pretty much from start to finish.
I found the section on white balance very interesting as I do as little post-processing as possible.
Thanks to Tim Cooper for helpful examples.
You have delivered an eye opener on landscape photography.
Thank you Tim, and B&H
Hi Tim. Great video. I run photography courses in the UK and I agreed with so many of your comments. Sometimes it felt like I was like looking in a mirror especially when you spoke about moving your feet and using lenses correctly rather than zooming, Fabulous images too.
One of the best lectures i've seen on landscape photography. thanks and post some more!
one f those vids which makes you feel you saved a lot of money on a very informative seminar, thanks alot!!!
Worth the time. Tim's explanation of focusing for landscapes is very good.
I absolutely loved this tutorial. So much so that I couldn't stop watching...its now 3.15 am lol. Im a beginner and have learnt so much through this...I cant thank you enough. Happy New Year. :)
This is the best video about landscape photograhy.very usefull tips .Thanks very much Tim Cooper.
one of the best speakers of the show. Really learn a lot from this video.
Excellent presentation! One of the best to learn how to improve landscape photos. Thanks, Tim!
This is an outstanding video. Thanks Tim, thanks B&H for bringing it to us. I learned a lot!
These are some great tips for landscape photography, but this video also has one of the best demonstrations of lens compression that I've seen.
A great lecture. I learned a lot. He identified and answer a lot of issues that negatively affects my landscapes photos. Thanks B & H and Tim.
This is a brilliant video lecture! So much to absorb.
Great video. One of the best B and H vids I have seen. Very easy to understand. Can't wait to test this out.
I have to say ive looked on line a good bit and am self learning photography, and this was best lecture ive come across , ive learned alot from it over in Ireland here, thank you :-) (Tim Cooper lecture )
what a fantastic video....wow..just so informative...Tim you really do have a way of getting the msg across...I love it
one of the best photography tutorials ever
Technical tips are amazing Tim....waiting to use them in my next shoot
Invaluable. It was indeed packed with information.
I had read a lot of books and tried a lot of things, but I felt I had reached a plateau and wasn't progressing. This tutorial has given me a wealth of straightforward techniques I can apply to get the most out of my equipment.
I genuinely feel I have the information to move on to another level now.
I very much enjoyed that and found it very watchable. I honestly didn't think I would watch the whole thing when I saw how long it was, but I enjoyed every bit of it.
I can't wait to get back out there and try some of these techniques.
Enjoyable & engaging presentation with excellent examples & illustrations.
I usually become bored with the lack of practical information in these how-to videos. This one was an exception. I listened to it all and even repeated a number of sections. Bravo Tim and B and H!
Great presentation.. very thorough... I really enjoyed it and learned alot. Very excited to go shoot a millions landscape pics on my trip to New Zealand! Can't wait.
Excellent...chock full of great ideas and techniques!
Thank you guys and Tim Cooper for this great lecture, it was very useful to me and I have learned a lot.
Thank you so much Tom! I learned a lot about landscape photographs!
Love when he says, "Questions for later!"
WOW just WOW. Thank you B&H.
Your work is Highly Effective.
Thank YOU MUCH for your help.
Much appreciated.
Tom Cooper is the man!
Amazing video, thank you.
Excellent presentation. Tim explains not only how he does things, but why.
Very well done & many thanks Tim..cheers.
Notice that this program is sponsored of B&H. A shop! A shop which it's primary goal is to sell you goods. But this person does not cheat you into shopping. He is honest. Example: ND filter. I like this attitude and that's why I keep shopping from B&H. Thank you!
this is good...every landscape photographer enthusiast should watch this
great workshop... very clear elaboration and easy to comprehend... thanks...
Very spiritual experience for everyone.I am a pro in the industry and artist. Light is everything.
Another very informative video tutorial from Tim Cooper. His HDR tutorial is excellent as well. In fact, I have not seen a bad tutorial from B&H or Tim. Check out Tim's website for some fabulous pictures and try to see the the learning points in them. Great work, thank you.
Thanks a lot for sharing with us! Very good! Learned a lot!
Great information for the technical aspects every landscape photographer ought to know!
Thanks a lot for your great video !! It's clear and it talks from experience. It confirmed a lot of things I was not sure about because of missleadings blog articles I found on the Internet, which were supposed to be written by "professionnal photographs". I'll purchase a B+W filter ASAP.Thanks again.
Thanks for the awesome tips now I cannot wait to go and test out what I learned.
The best B&H lecture I've seen. Great tips and advice on shooting landscapes.
did you watch their vid -- back to basics wedding photography? think it's my favorite.
isaachaze1 I'm not into weddings and only take casual shots at them, but I'll have a look at the video. Thanks for the pointer, but I don't think wedding photography is for me and I guess we all have our favourites.
I really like the one of robert rodriguez jr too
Great movie and very useful methods. Thanks B&H
Thank you for an excellent presentation! I learned a lot! Information in a clear understandable way! I intend to watch this several times to make sure I get as much as I can.
Great to see you here Martin !
Very good presentation !
Great class. Thanks Tim and B & H.
Some real eye-openers there (pardon the pun). I was particularly struck by the information about DOF. I sometimes use old M42 prime lenses so a lot of what was said made sense and hopefully will give me some more control over how I use them. Much appreciated, thanks Tim. Rated and favourited.
Upvote on tevors white balance comment and RAW shooting. The best thing about shooting RAW is you can swap that WB around in post at the click of a button. No need to remember colour adjustment levels unless you then want to fine tune HSL.
Great presentation, Tim !
Tim,
Thank you very much for this very informative video, I look forward to better pictures!
Great teacher. Made a lot of things to understand so easily
Tim: Regarding setting WB. Does it really matter what your WB is set to if you shoot in Raw. I typically shoot in AWB because when I go into Post I set the WB at that time. Am I missing out on something?
I really enjoyed this video especially when you showed your images taken several ways such as with different lenses or from different positions. Leslie
Excellent. Insightful. And delivered in a measured, easy to follow style. No mumbo-jumbo, too. Alright!
Would you also use daylight for sunset in Lightroom when processing? Thank you!
Great talk, one of the best I've seen.
Thank heavens I still shoot film !! So much more rewarding!
Great video Tim and very informative,Thanks.
Ann , I love you and your photography . Thanks . I have seen your photography on You Tube . Long live Ann .
