I have a 2019 zforce 800. We were on trails last weekend and hit washboard bumps. My son let off the throttle and heard a loud bang, now when slowing down it sounds like rocks grinding. At first, I thought it was the clutch, so I took the clutch cover off and it is fine. Had it on jacks so started it and ran it. Then noticed the coupling moving in and out on the rear differential. Just ordered a new rear differential. Sounds like a common problem with these machines. Thanks for the video.

Common on CF moto that bolt breaks CF moto knows it's a problem they have been giving people a new diff!!

Could it be that the rotation draws the pinion into the differential? Can a guy upgrade the bolt?

Exactly! The BRP diff have a supported pinion with the use of a pilot bearing on the tip of the pinion shaft, much stronger.
Cfmoto is built like a gm truck but instead of a big beefy pinion nut they went and used a little weak bolt to hold the yoke and apply preload on the pinion bearings. Yes the pinion is being pulled into the carrier underload.

I would like to know the same thing. Has anyone checked the bolt size and thread pitch to see if it can be replaced with a strong grade bolt?
