- I'm back with another classic capture, taken straight from original, physical hardware. This one is a longplay of THPS on the Dreamcast; the first game in one of my favorite (and by far my most-played) video game series'. All 30 tapes and 3 gold medals in 46 minutes, hope you enjoy!

Dreamcast in my personal opinion had really good graphics for back then especially the tony hawk games
Crazy how on the Dreamcast the graphics on every game were more improved than PlayStation such a sad thing sega couldn’t keep up with consoles

If Dreamcast had the ability to play DVD's, things could have been very different. It has a damn good game library. Specially when you take into account its short lifespan.
@@jeanbethencourt1506 PLus Sony lied to their fans promising specs that blew away the Dreamcast and all these lies about 1 million bit graphics over it but in the end it wasn't that far ahead and some ports played much better on the DC anyway. The PS2 sold so great due to the casuals that bought it for the DVD player. So many people I knew weren't even gamers just got it for a cheap dvd player. It was casual like the Wii was. I still like my PS2 but I always say the PS1 was Sony's best machine. Sega shot themselves in the foot long before the Dreamcast though and sadly it was collateral damage. Still love them all.
I still play the beloved PlayStation port of this game, but this is just awesome! I wish this game was ported to the PC like this!
Playstation version is not a port, it's the original version. N64 and Dreamcast versions are ports.

@Grym no. Emulation sucks. Best way is to play with vga box on 480p monitor, or 4ktv with HDMI to vga and mcable

I have, and I prefer the Dreamcast version if I want to just play THPS1. It wasn't made for the THPS2 engine, with added manuals and higher scoring moves, so the career mode is way too easy.
Now, I would definitely agree that THPS2X is the best version of THPS2 available.

If these ports of Tony Hawk used as more polygons like the PS2 game it would be perfect. I like this look better than the remakes.

LOL on the DC version of the SF level, they actually made it foggy! it was not originally foggy on the PS 1 version!
Just about the greatest videogame ever made, and this Dreamcast version improves upon the PSX classic in every way.
Its an in between of THPS2 and 3 its really cool.

There is beta builds to very early ones check it out look it up on hiddenpalace
you missed a few tapes from the Minneapolis level and mall level. I would not consider this 100% complete unless you collected every single tape. Also on the downhill level.... you need to Fastplant up that slope instead of just ollie (like you were trying) when aiming for the hidden/secret tape of the downhill level. Anyways, I appreciate you sharing the video with us. Thanks!
Sorry I'm a little late with this reply, but if you watch to the end, I did get all 30 tapes. I went back to those levels to collect the ones I missed, before moving on to Area 51.

@@quinnlane7257 dk 64, tarzan, super smash brothers, and mario kart and you've basically given your kid a perfect cross section of when games were actually fun and different and colorful and when 9/11 hadn't happened
It'll take me a few hrs but I can collect every tape with everyone and get 3 gold medals. Also ps1 and dc version of thps is by far better than the n64 version. Also I hated that the n64 don't have all the songs. One thing I wish this had but didn't until thps2 was a thing and that was manualing. But original thps will separate how skillful you think you are and how good you are because of it being the 1st and all the cool mechanics were added later to signify the raw composition the 1st game represented.

That's because THPS2x was made by the same developers (Treyarch).
Too bad the physics are sort of busted in that version. It's obviously the most feature-rich.
