  • ❤️ Why Vietnamese Women Prefer Being With Western Men... Part 4
In this last video, I am about to share with you another 5 reasons why mature Vietnamese women in Vietnam prefer to be with Western men. By mature, I mean women who were born before and within a few years after the Vietnam War since that’s a crucial event in the country’s history.
These reasons are based on my own experiences and from many mature Vietnamese women that I have had a chance to talk to.
Before I go on, I would like to emphasize to you that the most important factors are your sincerity and for who you are. I just want to remind you that a gentleman is still a gentleman no matter where he comes from.
    14. Independent - Not a Mama’s Boy.
Many Vietnamese men would stay with their parents and family, even after they got married. They are used to weighing their parents, especially their moms’ opinion heavily. Many times, their relationship or marriage can be affected quite much.
On the other hand, the majority of Western men move out of their parents’ house by the age of 18. Therefore, these Western men have learned to make their own decisions and not rely on their parents all the time. By saying that, I don’t mean to say every Vietnamese man or every Western man would all be like that. Once you are a Mama’s boy, you’ll always be a Mama’s boy regardless.
    15. More Willing To Admit They’re Wrong.
As I mentioned, the Vietnamese culture is male oriented so even if a Vietnamese man knows he’s wrong or has made a mistake, it’s very rare that he will admit it. Vietnamese language does have a phrase for “I’m sorry” but a Vietnamese man rarely, if ever, uses it with his lady. Using this phrase can be perceived as being weak and can lead to ridicule by his male friends.
As you can imagine, this can cause problems in the relationship because this unwillingness to face these situations communicates that the woman is not an equal. This inequality, of course, can build up resentment over time and damages the relationship.
    16. More Willing To Support Her Ambition.
In Vietnam, once a woman reaches her 30s or 40s and especially if she’s had children, it’s generally viewed that she should put her ambition and goals in the backseat to her man and her family. Thus, any discussion about her going back to school, focusing on her career or starting a new career is almost non-existent.
This situation is mainly because the society is still male dominated and in many cases, a Vietnamese man also does not like his woman to be more successful than him.
A Western man is far more likely to support his lady’s ambition and life goals. In fact, he often even encourages her to pursue her dreams because he knows that denying what you want often ends up leading to unhappiness.
    17. Is OK With Her Being Sexy.
Most Vietnamese men admire well dressed women...as long as it’s not his lady. If a Vietnamese woman dresses up just because she wants to feel good about herself, she’ll often have to explain to her man that there’s no ulterior motive. After a while, she’s resigned to not dressing up because of the continual explaining she has to do.
I have seen many very attractive women in Vietnam in a relationship who go out in public dressed in very casual clothes, almost the equivalent of gym sweats. At first, I thought it was because they didn’t care about their appearances when in reality, it’s because she doesn’t want to deal with the hassles of having to explain why she’s dressing up.
A Western man is far less likely to be as dominating or controlling about how his lady dresses. In many cases, he would even buy flattering outfits for his lady since he knows that dressing up, for many women, is a way to raise their confidence and feel good about themselves.
    18. Less Judgmental About Her Ancestry.
This may come as a surprise to you, but a Vietnamese man will pass on an amazing lady because he and/or his parents don’t think her ancestry is good enough. In other words, she can be educated and successful but if her parents are not as fortunate due to economic reasons, he will pass on marrying her or he will use that to belittle her.
In other words, she’s being judged for something that happened before she was born!
As you can imagine, this is completely unfair to the woman, and unfortunately, it happens a lot. I’ve personally experienced it, and I’ve seen it many times with people I know.
When you meet a mature Vietnamese woman, be aware of this, and please understand that she may not be as open initially for this and other reasons I’ve shared.
That's it for this series. Once again, I would like to remind you that if you are looking to settle down with a nice, decent mature woman in general, and Vietnamese woman in particular, you yourself must be that person first.
Thanks so much for your time. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to share them in the comment section below. I, Vanessa Ho, would do my best to respond to them.

Very insightful video. Now I know why my wife and stepdaughter were so amazed when they learned I could cook, clean, sew, and do yard work. I am the oldest and only boy of a family of 5 children. Both my mother and father taught all five children how to do all the domestic duties around the house. I have been living alone in the house I own for over 20 years so I am responsible for everything. When I am in Vietnam, my wife and daughter spoil me rotten. They will not let me lift a finger. The only thing required of me is to take off my shoes when coming into the house. The most important thing my father taught was how to treat women. He never sat me down and gave me a lecture but I learned from the example he set with my mother and 4 younger sisters. So being a gentleman with women comes easily for me.

Hello Vanessa. Thank you for the video series. I have learned a lot. I do have a question about one of your comments. You mentioned Vietnamese men do not apologize to their women because they feel they will appear weak and I assume will lose face. I have been in an online\long distance relationship with a woman I met last year in Ho Chi Minh city. We chat\text often but we still really don't know each other. It is all very new and to be honest I have no idea what is going to happen. I was planning on going back this last April but then Covid stopped that. My question is if I do apologize and own the mistakes I make (which I was raised to do), will I appear weak and lose her respect? Seem like a thin line to walk! The differences in our cultures makes for a steep learning curve and unfortunately I have some suspicions about her. Thanks and keep up the great work. Cảm ơn!

    • @marryavietnamesewoman6384
      @marryavietnamesewoman6384  Před 4 lety +4

Steven, great question. A Vietnamese woman doesn't consider a man weak when he apologizes: she appreciates that. It's just that a Vietnamese man won't do that because he often doesn't see the need to, even when he is wrong. So you apologizing [when appropriate] will make you really stand out.

I would want my woman to look great when she and I are together in public, to show off an attractive woman is with me. Male ego. 😊. I want other men to be jealous of me.
I would want my vietnamese woman to do both, dress up and sometimes be content to be causal. It is silly to spend hours to dress up just to walk to the mailbox at the end of the driveway. Waiting four hours for her to "get ready" to go out would be frustrating.
