Here are some of my favorites:
Nobody goes to that restaurant anymore, it is too crowded.
Cut my pie into four pieces, I don’t think I could eat eight.
Always go to other people's funerals, otherwise they won't come to yours.
I never said most of the things I said.

Reggie always treats the game and the veterans of the game with great dignity. I recall an article by Reggie where he called out a player for not knowing anything about the holder of a record that they had overtaken. He took the time to research and learn about anyone who’s record he surpassed. Class.

Over and above the quotes, he's one of the greatest ballplayers ever. With all those Yankee sluggers, it was Yogi who outhit them 6 years in a row. Led the league in double plays 3 times. Once went a whole year without an error. Three time league MVP, finished in the top 3 votes several other years. Years after he retired, he met a former player. "I bet you don't remember me," he said. Yogi replied, "I don't remember you're name, but I remember we pitched you high and outside."

A funny Yogi story i remember was told by his son. They had just moved into a brand new home and it still lacked window treatment. One morning Yogi was upstairs shaving and his son knocked on the door and said, "dad, the venetian blinds men are here." Yogi said to him, "get $5 dollars out of wallet and give to them". Yes, plenty of fundraising going on for all those blind folks in Venice.

George Steinbrenner and Billy Martin totally mistreated Reggie Jackson, each in their own way. In addition, Steinbrenner's decision to not resign Reggie was among the worst decisions he ever made, and he made a lot bad decisions.

That's not Reggie Jackson telling the story. I don't know who that is. But Reggie is second from the left listening. Still great stories about Yogi. He also fought in WW II.

When my son was young, we were in the concourse at the Metro dome in Mpls. Jackson was broadcasting. He walked right by us. I said to him, Mr Jackson, would you please shake my son’s hand. He totally blew us off. I think he’s an arrogant prick.
