Superman has three weaknesses:
- Magic (the trident is Atlantian magic).
- Kryptonite
- Red sun
In theory, anyone with magic including Shazam could win against Superman
Shazam has beaten superman before. (Not often But he has a few times)
People usually mistake that shazam is just an embodiment of magic(which he kinda is) and thus that he is basically supermans weakness in living form but shazam is just powered by magic alone and he barely uses any magic except lightning, that why most times supes always wins

He doesn't have a weakness to magic, he just doesn't have a particular immunity to it. Magic affects him the same way it would a human.

To answer your question as to why superman was taken out by Orm so easily it's because kryptonite isn't his only weakness another weakness he has but not a lot of people know is magic which is why he was taken out so easily because the trident of Atlantis is magical

That’s a bit of a misconception. Magic isn’t the same kind of weakness as kryptonite. It passes through his bio-electric aura and only has to contend with his hyper dense molecular structure. Depending on the strength of the magic he can either ignore it or it has a big effect on him. He eventually learns to negate this later on. It’s why he can go toe to toe with villains like Black Adam. These movies have him pretty young still so it makes sense, at least a little.

Magic is tough for Superman. He’s not weak to it, but Superman’s powers protect him from the physical world. DC magic breaks the laws of reality, so magic affects Superman the same as anyone else.
The reason they can hurt Superman is magic effects him the same way as normal humans.

To be fair she did say that Batman's the only one she knows that much about and most people don't know about Superman's weakness outside of Kryptonite. My dad thought the only way Batman would be able to beat him with a Kryptonite suit

It's NOT really a misconception, seeing as there is NOTHING native to Earth that is Stronger than he is. If a celestial God held Earth in one hand and Mars in the other, smashed them together with Superman in the middle, he'd sweep off the ruble from his shoulder look up and ask " Are you done yet?" Kal El may not be physically strong enough to support the weight of Earth's mass, but his body is STILL millions upon millions of times more powerful than it's material.

This film is the start of Rosario Dawson voicing Wonder Woman in this universe. Kryptonite is Superman's most well known weakness but he is also weak to Magic and red son and a lot of Atlantis's technology are Magical.

You know weeks ago when I was aware of Krystalology watching the New52 series I was waiting to see and explain if she knew why it took Superman out too. She looked like she wasn't told or researched it. So I'll explain now. Superman has problems with magic or as in witch craft, supernatural magic powers villains throw at him and Atlantis having mystical powers within its regions is considered magic form too so that's why Superman has problems defending against magic because it's not a stable form of reality weaponry set on earth reality. It's in the comics and movies such as Supergirl movie from back in the day. Oh and the Justice Fatal Five animated movie dives into that magic explanation really cool

My one gripe with this movie is did they seriously think they could conquer the surface world with that tiny army? It looked like a single regiment and sure they have extreme tech and lowers but they aren’t completely bullet proof and if push comes to shove they sure as hell aren’t nuke proof.

Cyborg is the ONE person on Earth who DOES NOT need money from selling organs. He can just tell every bank on the planet to donate $1 and end up a multi billionaire. There's no way they could stop him. Cyborg alone could potentially CREATE Skynet (that's a Terminator thing) just by telling some computer to wake up and then launch every nuke at the same time. IF he had the impulse to do so.

Superman has weaknesses other than kryptonite - mainly a red sun (Earth’s yellow sun powers him up, whereas a red sun weakens him), and magic.
The trident of Atlantis has magical properties, hence it’s able to hurt Superman him.
There are also other forms of kryptonite: the ones that I know of are red, which makes him angry, and gold, to which prolonged exposure would depower Supes permanently.
