Love all you offer in details… we are two golden ladies with land in Tennessee and very excited about getting started on our shipping containers (3- 40ft) home…we watch you all day every day….
Super fan of luxury container home for 12 years now! Awesome and simple but elegant! Winning this give away would be a dream come true! I always wanted to give my wife and our up coming baby a pretty home that is one of a kind here in the philippines! Nothing comes close to a luxury container home design and style. Praying to win this home! Keep safe to every one! God bless us all! More power to you blake!
Blake, if it was up to me I would volunteer myself in helping you. You have a lot to teach others. Love you bro. 💪🙏🏋️♂️

My family live in Wilmington NC. We have land only needs to be fill. We are exhausted of paying more than $700 per month in just water and electricity. We really love to win such an awesome gift. We love coffee as well. lol
I'm from south African and I love your work.... I would love to bring this style of housing to my area 🔥
Im planning on buying a 1 acre plot of land upstate NY this year. Its been a long time dream and goal to escape the madness of NYC. I would melt with happiness if I won this home. Beautiful work guys, love your videos, very informative and inspirational beyond all else. Keep it up !
I have loved this idea since I was in the military. We used to do our urban terrain training in shipping containers, and stayed in some during overnight missions. They had stairs and rooftop accesses. I saw it as a cool party pad idea, two stories high, double wide on each floor, in a square or rectangle configuration, maybe overlooking a courtyard, with a pool. That idea came from when we were in Mexico and was told if we lived on the beach in Mexico, and had an exterior pool, anyone can go into your pool, cause you don't own water in Mexico. I didn't want random strangers in my pool, so this idea came up. Whether it was true or not, I figured the courtyard idea would be a great idea. Anyway, I love the idea, and in the future plan to have some kind of system like this. I even thought about having a few completely buried with a good ventilation system, if not bolted properly to the concrete foundation, for a tornado shelter, or apocalypse shelter. I believe the ventilation idea would be the trickiest part here, but still attainable. Nice job and thanks. Keep up the good work.
Have you ever built with pre insulated REFFER CONTAINERS?!
Would loooove 🥰 to hear your hands on thoughts about them!💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
love the concept here, but what is keeping condensation from developing inside, between the corrugated steel, and the InSoFast? Don't you need a vapor barrier?
love this
Love the corner detail tip and that shank bro!
Hi, This system seems modular and well fitting but not enough insulation for the colder climates. Bit concerned about the air quality of the new home with all the off gases from the polyurethane glue (PL). Best to air out well and let that glue dry and off gas a bit before you do interior wall and ceiling finishes. Nice work thou bro getting er done.
Nice alot of great ideas to make my decision easier on whether I will go with a container build or a shed to house build.
And it looks like it fits like a glove.
This would be great for my daughter
After seeing this...this is the only option that I’d prefer for my future container home. Excellent video. I’ve subscribed.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Looking forward to the pros and cons vid!
I love your work, CL. I plan on building a container house on some property we own as a "Mini Farm".
I AM from Denmark 🇩🇰 it would be amazing to live in a container 😁 i single and we dont have containerhouse here. I love The concept container house 😁
I often wondered if it would have been better to start off with a reefer container - considering the insulation is already built in and it even has utilities compartment where compressor and refrigeration system is housed. Hope you'll get to explore that option at some stage and give us a rundown on costs/time differences. Cheers.
I imagine that the cutting and welding of a reefer container would negate any insulation value. That’s multiple layers of aluminum to cut out for windows. And then you can’t use steel framing to weld.
There is some differentkinds of insulation like spaceloft, pyrogel, cryogel, thermal wrap and different thickness. Insofast looks like some light insulation.
God bless you man.
Easy to understand, great channel!
Great video on how to insulate a container. A positive comment which is not to be be taken personally is that the cameraman should not stand in the center of the video and explain processes. It is much more entertaining to see video of the process or activity. Keep up the good videos.
Nice cool homes very cool indeed
Iam getting your ideas and one day i build same house in Nepal thank you
Man my dream is to get a container bro!!!
Great videos your the best
I may give this system a try...thanks for sharing this one. As a contractor I will probably get frustrated at first for sure...but..as I get into the shipping container arena I am sure this may be a good option in some of the designs. I sure hope we can hook up sooner than later too man. Always enjoy the vids
Protip: cutting with a circular saw or a table saw, spin your blade around backwards so it doesn't catch on the foam. Will cut through like butter.
deftdawg good call trying that next time! It still cut easy but did rip through it a bit
I ordered that InSoFast Pizza. I hope it has extra glueroni on it. :). I hope to win. I live with family and it's tight on space around here. Mother is disabled, so I am trying to be a good son.
Good lookin dogs, luv them
Gooood
Yoooo, Greetings from Rincon...!
Even though you are spending 2 hours getting the insulation system up, at the same time you are putting up your stud walls and your electrical conduit, so you are actually saving time you would have spent later on
I love your channel man! I wish I was here early enough to try to win a home!
wish I could get insofast in New Zealand. would like to do the walls with it. for now I have to use flat polystyrene panels.
Nice video! Very Useful... can’t wait for the giveaway!
Giant cheeto at 7:05 :D
Does any condensation form between the insulation and the sheet metal?
Who is special needs to have our own place
Love the chanel
Please see Home Depot cart list for 20’ container I already purchased and been delivered the 20’ container based on your build....thank you what is next step and how did u frame out the interior wall?
At about 4 minutes into the video, what are the insulation strips called that are on the wall behind you? Are they a seperate type of insul?
I love your channel!! We have ten acres in central KY and want to build a 200 sq ft shipping container home on it. We have an Zoom appt tomorrow with an architect to explore our ideas but I wonder if there is a better way. How do we find someone who can design one that has already done it?
Sue Morgan we may be able to help you with that! We have been waiting forever for our new trailer to be built but after delay and delay we are still waiting! Then we can ship them!
@@ContainingLuxury I realize I have a typo on that! I meant to say 2000 square ft
Can you still help?
There is no go fund me link in the comments!, Also ignore the choosy beggars complaining about having to pay for a chance to win, you're doing the container home a valuable service I'll be watching these videos religiously when I build mine after this whole virus thing is over
sirtakesthemickalot thank you! I just updated so now it’s there! Good catch! And thank you for the support!
where is link to tools you are using ? Glue and foam?
how would you put celing lighting after that/plumbing/electrical? ext
It's very cool, please the costo.
The thing that concerns me is that there will always be narrow cavities that could create areas that could cause condensation, ?
If those panels are EPS do they not have to have a fire barrier such as sheetrock, frp wall panels or sprayed with intumescent paint per code?
Need this house lol I’m 21 and don’t wanna build mine lol
What is the R value of "insofast"? And, is there a problem with condensation in the winter?
It's gonna sweat. There are gaps. They're small, but they're there.
Either spray foam,or chainshelled Pumicecrete on the outside would eliminate the issuse of condensation.
I wish I win it really need it I’m 59 years old and I have severe problem in my knees. Can work any more I have the land to put it but I can’t aford to buy me one
I have dreamed of building or living in a container home for years!!! Would love ❤️❤️❤️❤️ to win one🙏🙏!
Me as well.
I also love monolithic domes.
www.monolithic.com
Blake, how tall are you? I think you did a great job! What is the rating using this type of insulation?
Kal Robbins only 5’10! On the ceiling it broke down to roughly R10 and the walls about R12
Excellent channel glad I found this, where did u get the insulation boards that fit on the gap of the siding of the container, a link would be appreciated.
Do you not need to run the electrical wires while you are installong the panels? Or atleast some pull strings?
Hocus Pocus it’s designed that you don’t need to, but I found it to be a pain getting even one piece of 14/2 romex in there I can’t even imagine being able to pull anything more than a 12/3 through it.. we had to lube the crap out of the wire to pull it 5 ft
I have not played with the InSoFast, but I have had good luck getting mule string through conduit with a shopping bag and a shop vac. And then wrap the string around piece of rebar in a drill. The drill helps to keep a steady pull. And make sure you tape the knot at the wire. Get a steady taper going up the mule tape, you don't want any bulges that may get caught.
So if I’m correct, this hasn’t been given away yet?
I don't want to cover my container home ceiling as I like the look of exposed metal as a design element, so can this system be applied on the outside roof? I will be finishing with a shed roof.
PerpetualMotion it can but I would honestly do a over hang with the roof and insulate with either fiber glass or spray foam, you will get a higher r value, depending on where you are shoot for R19 or greater
@@ContainingLuxury Thank you for your thoughtful reply... I really appreciate the information!
Where can I get plans for a 1000 sq foot container home and how can elevate it to provide some flood protection?
I like this system , my question is what is your R value with this foam , I live in Edmonton Alberta Canada and Im thinking about building a container home , thanks
Me too... I'm in Alaska and I was told to go with the spray foam, but this looks interesting so I wonder if it would work for us?
Can it condensate between the metal and insulation?
Do you think that using Insofast is better than using the traditional studs? Are you saying this is better because it is easier? What about the cost compared to traditional options?
BinHexOctal I think for a DIY customer that doesn’t have a lot of construction experience or access to spray foam this may be a easier route, but you for sure get a better r value for less work with spray foam, just may end up costing a bit extra...this is really light weight so if that is an issue or plan to move your container this might be the way to go
Wait for the pros and cons video :)
Good video but no way on that abysmal R value....I live in French Canada and we’re going with at least R-30 in the walls.
acchaladka yeah it’s not the best for super hot or cold environments, I would for sure go closed cell for there!
Which glue is used to stick metal to thermcol..
I just donated some money, I wish I could win this to put on my friend property in Placerville. It's so pretty and give a lot of ideas of how to make a nice extra place to stay when I want to distress from the big city. Is this going to be an empty container or is it made into an actual home? Are you guys in California?
Hey can these panels go on the outside of the container instead.?
Wife and I are planning on building one later this year in the Tampa area. What would you recommend for insulation if we want to keep the bare steel on the inside?
Why do you use foam? What if that house gets on fire? I’ve never seen that before. I’ve seen insulation but not foam.
What do you do, for condensation??
Where can i buy insofast...???
I want a container
Better to insulate and vinyl side the outside?🤔
substation yeah I think that would be cheaper and easier if your covering the outside anyway.. but if you want to leave the outside then need to weigh the pros and cons of spray foam :)
We’re do you get the insulation from?
just wanted to know where you guys located?
It would be cool if I won this. Then I would have a house to put on my property and something to live in. I'm going to donate when I get some money to help the cause for a lucky sub.
So who won this?
Where did you buy the insulation foam?
Can you maybe explain a little better why we should go fund you ? Is this going to cover your building costs? Is it going to the individual. Perhaps if you told us more, than it will start taking off.
Can these be used for heat? I live in the Caribbean
Shemiah Landlord for sure! All about the insulation, and sun reflection in your case :)
can i found a work with you and teach me
And the cost for the 20' Insofast package?
Subgunman I paid $1500 plus all the glue and foam which was about another $160
What’s the r rating of the insofast system?
Jay Sousa it ranges with the different panels, but it was about R11 on the walls and R-10 on the ceiling, so you will need to add some additional... since this container is so small I am going to insulate the roof when I build it
A paid for give-away..
Brin Haerycammel yup! We put over 160 man hours into the build and only trying to cover material costs! This cost us roughly 35k to build total with labor and materials
It's a lottery! You pay to play, nothing wrong with that.
