I always wanted to give my wife and our up coming baby a pretty home that is one of a kind here in the philippines! Nothing comes close to a luxury container home design and style. Praying to win this home! Keep safe to every one! God bless us all! More power to you blake!

    I have loved this idea since I was in the military. We used to do our urban terrain training in shipping containers, and stayed in some during overnight missions. They had stairs and rooftop accesses. I saw it as a cool party pad idea, two stories high, double wide on each floor, in a square or rectangle configuration, maybe overlooking a courtyard, with a pool. That idea came from when we were in Mexico and was told if we lived on the beach in Mexico, and had an exterior pool, anyone can go into your pool, cause you don't own water in Mexico. I didn't want random strangers in my pool, so this idea came up. Whether it was true or not, I figured the courtyard idea would be a great idea. Anyway, I love the idea, and in the future plan to have some kind of system like this. I even thought about having a few completely buried with a good ventilation system, if not bolted properly to the concrete foundation, for a tornado shelter, or apocalypse shelter. I believe the ventilation idea would be the trickiest part here, but still attainable. Nice job and thanks. Keep up the good work.

    Hi, This system seems modular and well fitting but not enough insulation for the colder climates. Bit concerned about the air quality of the new home with all the off gases from the polyurethane glue (PL). Best to air out well and let that glue dry and off gas a bit before you do interior wall and ceiling finishes. Nice work thou bro getting er done.

    I often wondered if it would have been better to start off with a reefer container - considering the insulation is already built in and it even has utilities compartment where compressor and refrigeration system is housed. Hope you'll get to explore that option at some stage and give us a rundown on costs/time differences. Cheers.

    • @jaybrown5399
      @jaybrown5399 Před 4 lety +1

      I imagine that the cutting and welding of a reefer container would negate any insulation value. That’s multiple layers of aluminum to cut out for windows. And then you can’t use steel framing to weld.

  • @goodtoday7185

    There is some differentkinds of insulation like spaceloft, pyrogel, cryogel, thermal wrap and different thickness. Insofast looks like some light insulation.

    • @ContainingLuxury
      @ContainingLuxury  Před 4 lety

      Hocus Pocus it’s designed that you don’t need to, but I found it to be a pain getting even one piece of 14/2 romex in there I can’t even imagine being able to pull anything more than a 12/3 through it.. we had to lube the crap out of the wire to pull it 5 ft

    • @hocuspocus4871
      @hocuspocus4871 Před 4 lety +1

      I have not played with the InSoFast, but I have had good luck getting mule string through conduit with a shopping bag and a shop vac. And then wrap the string around piece of rebar in a drill. The drill helps to keep a steady pull. And make sure you tape the knot at the wire. Get a steady taper going up the mule tape, you don't want any bulges that may get caught.

      PerpetualMotion it can but I would honestly do a over hang with the roof and insulate with either fiber glass or spray foam, you will get a higher r value, depending on where you are shoot for R19 or greater

    • @ContainingLuxury
      @ContainingLuxury  Před 4 lety

      BinHexOctal I think for a DIY customer that doesn’t have a lot of construction experience or access to spray foam this may be a easier route, but you for sure get a better r value for less work with spray foam, just may end up costing a bit extra...this is really light weight so if that is an issue or plan to move your container this might be the way to go
