I just discovered snooker a few days ago and I love it, but I have a question. Why does Cahill shoot to miss at 11:44? Seems to me like he could've made that shot and kept playing, so I don't understand why people were cheering for that miss.
He played a shot and didnt land on black. The green or brown are too difficult to pot. You would only attempt it in a exhibition perhaps. If you go for the pot then your white is travelling back towards the reds and if you miss it then you leave your opponent on. So thats when you close up shop and play a safety and put white on baulk cushion.
