Swiss Traveling - COOP Grocery Store - Downtown Interlaken, Switzerland

We saw two grocery store chains all over the place in the Berner Oberland. One was the COOP grocery chain and the other was Migros. This is a tour of the COOP grocery store in downtown Interlaken. After visiting many different ones, this COOP is larger than some in or near train stations, and has a bigger selection of hot and cold ready-to-eat meals. Really good food and beverages are available at Swiss grocery stores at prices that are surprising cheap when compared to cafes or restaurants. Shopping at grocery stores also gives you a little glimpse of the local culture or - if you are in a high-tourist area - glimpses of world culture shopping behaviors. No trip to Switzerland is going to be inexpensive, but buying food and drink for dinner at the hotel from grocery stores and markets or local bakeries and food shops can be fun and save a few of those Swiss Francs.
