Hey man! Just wanted to drop some progress for ya!
Since I bought a 100 pound sandbag in the beginning of the year, I’ve gotten up to 150 pounds for 3 reps each side of Ground To Shoulder and now at 170 pounds and starting off at 1 again currently.
But I’ve found something that I truly enjoy, and it’s right in my backyard! I’ve also put on some serious muscle and weight with a calorie surplus and finally hit 200 pounds personally.
And it’s all thanks to finding your channel brother❤️ thank you for putting out content my man🤝
Hey that's so awesome man!! Best comment ever!
Did you not enjoy typical fitness exercises?
Let's just use what God gave us fellas

[plops out my balls]
This channel is such a W in a world full of gym influencers and posers
Thank you I really appreciate that! Just trying to make videos I think are cool 🙂
The hill sprint is possibly the single greatest exercise there is imo.
Hard to beat it!
In the short time I've frequented this channel, its really become a regular go to for me.
Hey really glad you're liking the videos! I'll do my best to keep making cool stuff 🙂
Thats true for me too
This channel is very therapeutic. Love from England
Hey glad you like it!
Skyrim enjoyer, nice! Great Video 👍
I was waiting for someone to notice that 😁 thank you!
how u deal with bugs?
here in the tropical jungles move a rock you can die and logs are full of life
I spent a couple years in a tropical climate, I probably wouldn't mess with the logs at all aha, not worth it. With rocks though I used the 'roll and run' method, roll it over quick and run away until whatever was on it leaves. Repeat for reps haha 😄 . I found a giant black widow under a stone here recently, always gotta be careful! Sandbags could be a good alternative
@@thestonecircle yeah here is brasil(serra da tiririca) so dense rainforest, stuff is humid, decaying and full of venomous things, i'll stick to rucking, sandbags and surviving xD
your stuff is super inspiring man keep it up, shoulder carrying sandbags 3x a week has been doing wonders for me!
I would train my back and shoulders a few times a week. Picking up boxes and furniture and putting them overhead on a lift gate 4-6 days a week after having shoulder pain and slight back aches. When Fall came in and moves started to slow down, I would train shoulders almost everyday. After watching many of your videos, I make it a goal/commitment to train back atleast 6 days a week. It really helps alot doing daily activities and lifting heavy weights or objects. I know what you mean by your back just feels solid.
There's nothing like working out outside in the woods, open land, etc with plenty of things to do. I have 25-50lb stones that I carry around with only my fingers to build and maintain grip strength. So that's my start in the stone lifting community!
High frequency back training is so worth it! Like it makes you bulletproof. I hope it works well for you! 25-50lb carry with your fingers that's some serious grip strength!
This is exactly the kind of video I've wanted to make. This is literally my ideal training routine and what I'm doing right now. I'm actually inspired to return to creating content on this channel, building on the themes and points you've covered lately, and sharing my own experiences as well. Look out for new uploads in the coming days!
Awesome man I can't wait to see what you come up with!!
Man... your content is one of those breath of fresh air approaches in training especially for hypertrophy. From all the expensive gyms and supplements circling around yt fitness this is something thay deviates from that, and you show that those things aren't necessary. Appreciate your work man hoping you could show us your diet and whether you're meticulous with it or simple
Hey so glad you like it!! I've been planning a diet video I'm just trying to make sure I do it right haha. Pretty simple though I usually eat 2 meals a day, this protein cereal stuff I make for bfast and a rice or pasta dish of some kind for dinner 🙂
Thank you brother for speaking up. I always wanted to tell everyone you don't need a gym unless u don't have access to nature
Hey I'm really glad you liked this one!!
Ha! I live in the forest. I mean, I don't grind it like this guy, but moving through the land like an animal is intense. And the last few days I've been installing barbed wire fence. Moving like I'm just not used got moving. Hard ass sh*t. Love the channel, bro.
Hey glad you like the channel! That's awesome I hope to get where you are one day 💪
@@thestonecircle Looks like you have a pretty sweet forest yourself, but you're welcome any time. I've got a pretty nice traditional style outdoor gym as swell. Including of course heavy bags. And like you I began life planning to be a rock star, so I've got a few instruments lying around. It's a total man camp. Just me and my mastiff friend, Billy. Happy trails!
@@freeman436that sounds like the dream man!!
Thank you so much for making this! It's fantastic.
Thank you for the idea!! Had a lot of fun making it 🙂
@@thestonecircle Also, how do you find an area in the mountains or nature to do something like this?
@FreeRoger as long as it's not privately owned land no one will really care if you're walking around with stones and logs, most think it's cool haha.
Wow I’ve followed this channel since it was 2k subs now you’re close to 20k. Good for you. You share good content.
Hey thanks for being here all this time!!
Training in nature is a great change of pace! The biggest thing that reduces my frequency are the clouds of mosquitos here in Ontario, Canada.
Definitely! Yeah I grew up in mosquitoland I know the feeling, really nice not having many here 😮
My 20 acres of woods is short on stones, but plenty of logs and trees ;)
So jealous haha
....out here bringing us all a valuable primitive gospel in the midst of our postmodern wilderness! *(dig the conceptual breakdown into "stone, tree, hill", I can actually see it on a tshirt!)
Yes time to head for the woods and get some training in! 🙂
That's a great idea
I was thinking the same. Put it on a t-shirt. I'd buy that. The Stone circle mantra.
@@warlord2pfaI've been scouting some artists I think are really good, I'd love to get some badass art put on a shirt!

It's now 6 because I just subscribed. Love from the UK!
Hey heck yeah glad to have you here!! It's always a nice feeling when you go through and get rid of the clutter 🙂
Where do you live? Looks beautiful there.
Colorado 🙂 Growing up in the Midwest this place still looks like it shouldn't exist to me haha
Cool video. I just tried natural stone lifting on a hike today after training with sandbags for a few months (inspired by you), and the biggest difference I found was the skin! my hands and forearms are all ripped up. Will I grow thicker skin and become more resilient to this or is it something I just need to accept?
Hey thank you I'm glad you gave it a try!! Your skin does become more resilient but the stones always scrape you up a bit. I usually try to wear at least a few layers of clothing for that reason
Love the program and what it stands for. So unique.
Hey glad you liked it!!
This is awesome man, love these unconventional styles of training, started my journey lifting rocks in the back yard because I was too young to sign up for the gym, now I can gym I miss lifting rocks in the back yard, good stuff keep it up 🫡!!
Hey that's awesome, I bet you built a really solid base that way!!
Nature's gym will always be better than your local one
Agreed!
Sprinting up hills = win win win. I was doing it on sand hills at the beach the other day… round after round, fukn amazing cardio while also killing the leg muscles
It's like a real life cheat code, I ate so much food during those few days I was up there and came back weighing less lol. Lots of sprinting and carries! I don't think I've ever actually done hill sprints on sand, it seems like an even more intense way to do it!
@@thestonecircle awesome man
And yeah it’s hard to even call them sprints when done on loose sand uphill haha.. the intent of sprinting is there, the speed surely isn’t
@StopTheDamnTape makes me want to try it even more!
Another great video brother! Just an idea on your future workouts, but have you tried incorporating crawls and get ups? Both have so many amazing benefits, but both movements are in the often neglected transverse plane as well as more than one plane of motion. Both use just about the entire body and greatly increase mobility and joint robustness. The crawls especially work contralateral movement which has a ton of benefits for your brain and coordination. It also feels great on my back, especially if it's sore or stiff. But i've been loving doing bear crawls with sandbag pull throughs. For the get ups, i've been using a kettlebell, but will start now with a sandbag to up the challenge and to translate over to my MMA training. I've found that sandbags seem to be the best and most realistic fitness implement that carries over well for mma training imo. Hope all is well and always love seeing your videos!
Hey thank you! I spent a while working with the animal movement stuff a while back and it really was a lot of fun, I should have tried bear crawling up this mountain too haha woulda been awesome. Combining it with a sandbag sounds badass though I will have to try that, getups too!
I've been thinking. The sprint is basically the best full body exercise one can do. But if they weather it's lousy or life gets in the way, I might've found an alternative at home - punching bag. Both are very intense, impact-heavy (sprinting is basically your feet punching the ground), train strength, explosiveness, cardio; and of course, both are highly holistic. And both have a very practical use outside of training as well. (: It's obviously not a 1:1 relationship, but I think it's worth looking into.
That's a great comparison! I like the idea of the feet punching the ground
your channel is really a 💎 - highly motivating - keep on going like that - greetings from Germany👍
Hey thank you I appreciate it!!
This is a very humble and grounding video to watch
Hey glad you liked it!
7:55 That house and shed in the background add to the fairytale atmosphere.
Definitely! All kinds of old cabins in the area it feels like another world
Excellent video..great enthusiasm 👏
Thanks again you liked it!
Love this. It had an almost spiritual tinge to it at the beginning.
Hey glad you liked it! Always trying to add just a little extra when I can :)
We’ve discussed this before….Being in nature is somehow restorative to the soul or whatever you wanna call it… I think hard work out in nature amplifies this, we all need it!!! Our true nature
Definitely!! During that last trip I was training at least as hard and for twice the time compared to normal. I came back feeling refreshed and hit prs on all my calisthenics stuff! Can't beat it. Also that higher altitude, swear it makes you feel like you have endless stamina when you come back haha
I used to feel something similar while hiking and rucking in the midwest, when I tried it later here in this urban portion of the east coast I got many steps in but didn't get that feeling of being mentally refreshed.
@@saiketbiswas8444definitely something special about being further out there. Makes me wonder what it must have been like before large cities, did people just always feel that way as a baseline? 😮
Yeah that could be a possibility, definitely amazing if they did !
@@thestonecircle I would say life not being full of unnatural stresses like bills, social media, working a 9-5 and not living in a world where the food and water is contaminated with plastics/toxins due to excess human pollution would definitely leave people in a better baseline mental state. Also I would say our large society is unnatural and being in a smaller village/tribal setting is more mentally healthy for a multitude of reasons. I don’t think our brain is designed for a lot of the shit the average person experiences in modern life hence the fact that the majority people seem to suffer some sort of anxiety and or depression issue. I could go on and on, I’ll cut it off now lol.
dude, this is so awesome. You’re going to be inspiring a whole population of people without equipment to make the best out of what they have around them!
Thanks man! Nothing like training in the woods 🙂

Currently at 12 explosive lifts to shoulder and 3 more slow after that (each side).
Soon time to get a larger bag - love this kind of training, and hits all my weaknesses!
Keep the videos coming, love it!
Hey heck yeah that's some really great progress, just what I like to hear!!
Good video, ties in to your weighted walking video from a couple of weeks ago.
Thank you and definitely! Wanted to make sure that was a part of it 🙂
This is so dope. Not only am I super keen to implement this style of "old simplicity" and elements in to the traditional styles of just being a human and not a gym robot... no offense.
But also the search for rocks on my walks runs or journeys. Hunting for my tools to sculpt my mind body and spirit.
Something about this just feels right and refreshing.
Stay humble
Hey glad you liked this one! The hunt for stone is one of the best parts, going way off trail finding the perfect stone and bringing it back, so much fun! I like that way of thinking about it too, it's like a self reliant way of training, finding your own tools 💪
Great video man, really good, I gotta try those double tree pull ups man. I’ve got enough experience to just imagine the back stabilisation and grip work, and it’s calling me! Ye!
Thanks man! I like them so much I've added aspens to the list of things I want when I'm one day able to live in the mountains haha. I would do these pullups all day if I could, idk what it is exactly but they are just so awesome
@@thestonecircle yeah man, some movements just connect with people. That’s why I get so sick of the whole obsession over the big three. Doesn’t click with everyone mentally, there’s plenty of other shit out there that’s just as good if not better, especially as it pertains to the individual.
