Thanks for putting Quik up there with the other greats. He rarely gets his just dues.
yeah Quik no joke
He's rarely mentioned because he's not that good.
@Marlon Varnell you can swear and type in all caps. but it doesn't change the truth. sadly.
I like how Salaam Remi did the Break Down they need to change this section to how he put it down.
yeah I feel em on not wanting to put em up against each other. Its cool to do that in private in the barber shop or whatever but not when you're Salaam Remi on a press run lol. If I was in preproduction I would have been like "you sure he's gonna wanna do that?" lol
Gave Amy Winehouse a crazy sound!!
I need to step my life up to where people can tell stories about what I've done and created in the same way Salaam did those producers
I really enjoyed this interview And I feel a little enlightened and excited because I discovered a creator although new to me hes already a legend Amongst us
Sway called him Khalid, that’s insulting!
Extremely
Fashitecture why? I genuinely don’t know?
WOW!!!
That was dope 🙏🏾
GREAT interview!
Love.

Loving this right now
Jay Dee is my favorite producer. Throughout his career he has emulated and shown so many styles. Detroit hip hop, hard boombap, neo soul, electronic music, everything jay was just so versatile dawg I'm telllin y'all. Dilla for life
Can you provide a link for his "electronic music" example.
@@uhadibenga5639 any of the 2000 or 2002 batches. Dillatronic album
@@uhadibenga5639 but 2000 isn't on yt. It's something most dilla collectors have, including me
Thanks for replying, will find em.
@@uhadibenga5639 no problem bro. I would also suggest listening to welcome to Detroit. It's by jay but it's like an experimental album. Couple of hip hop joints, couple of electronic joints. Listen to big booty express
🖖🏽 The Neptunes
Remi is great producer lot heads dont know bout been on him 4 a min now nas at his best on remi beat
respect!
Work on your habits and see yourself transform!
Wish this was longer
This dude KILLED Frank Ocean - Swim Good.
Swizz Beatz 🎯
BOX Talk Hard Body Karate!!!! Salute Salaam Remi!!!!
I get what Salaam is saying. On one hand he's right: all great producers are great. Can't really compare them like that. But on the same token, it's just for fun. And you can sorta compare who has more bangers. Neptunes got more hip hop bangers than Large Pro. Large Pro is of course that dude, though. And props for Salaam putting him in perspective.
Rza 🤴🏿
Kanye West and The Neptunes are among one of my favorite producers but DJ Premier is the GOAT
The Neptunes and Timbaland are the best producers of all time. I'd put Dr.Dre 3rd. Yes I know Dre did it in so many different eras, but no one messing with Timbo and the Neptunes
Quick is better than Dre.
Plus Dre only did hip hop, Neptune’s and Timbaland did multiple genres of music.
Your reaching but to each his own
Out Krs-d Krs-one, lol
Lose the small talk and just ask who he thinks makes hotter beats.
I agree but he won't keep it real. Too industry. For example - I'm a hip hop fanatic. and I absolutely love Large Pro AND the Neptunes. But if we keep it all the way real, Neptunes got more bangers overall. I'm not saying one style is better than another. I'm simply saying that if you make a numbered list of great Neptunes beats, and great Large Pro beats, Neptunes will have more great beats. They have more standouts.
I thought Maxo Cream changed his name or something lol
Quick > Dre
in beat making yes...producing, no
dn30001 Daz Dillinger was producing most of his stuff and he was just putting Dre name on it: i’m not saying Dre is not a good producer but he received a Lotta accolades and credit that he never deserved. A lot of inside musicians know about this
@@paystyles5429 You mean Daz was DOING the beats and Dre was putting his name as the producer. remember..... producing =/= beatmaking.
LOL. not even by a longshot.
First
third
The Neptunes are my all-time favorite producers 🖖🏾
