Congratulations on 10,000!
Thank you!
Because Spring here in Western Washington was really warm, the spawn came and went early in May. Now the carp are really hungry and ready to go! Congratulations on 10,000, way to go!
Thank you!
I've been fishing Carp for several years now, and keeping meticulous records of my catches in relation to water/air temps, and time of year. Caught more than 3 tons in 2023. One thing I've found that surprises me is that the spawn seems to relate more closely to the length of the days (as a trigger) than to the water temperature. If we have a really cold Spring, the Carp tend to start spawning, and then rapidly losing weight 🙂, in the same stretch of the calendar as years when the water warms up much faster. I love the pre-spawn bite (Late May/Early June, in Wisconsin) on big lakes. So much fun.
You're 100% right about the length of day being just as important as temperature. We had an early thaw this year, and some waters warmed up much earlier than normal, but the fish weren't fooled. They spawned at the usual time, regardless of water temperature, which in this region is late May, early June.
Beautiful fishing location brother 👌 lovely fishing ❤
Outstanding fishing and 10K!!! You have to feel good about it all.
I enjoyed the little spring color intro at 0:26, nice touch. Thanks for bringing us all this fun.
I appreciate the kind words, thanks James!
That’s great. I can’t wait to see it. 👍🏼
Congratulations on 10000 subscribers. Well deserved.
Thanks Jim!
Congrats on the 10 grand man!
Thanks!
Well earned 10k bud.. yesterday was our first go at it.. grandson got 1. Keep up the great work Tom!
That's awesome, thanks!
Nice session Karl, well done, and congrats on 10k 👍
Thanks
Love tha vids buddy keep on getting that net wet, and may god bless you on all your ventures 😊
Thanks 👍
I’ve always heard 62 - 64f is when they spawn.
Not all of the carp spawn at the same time; you can often hook some 20-30 yds in deeper water from the spawning fish. A friend has done this, successfully.
Congratulations on10 gran Tom
That's about the clearest water I've seen you fish in. 17 lb pig was good to see..
Went fishing last Sunday we caught 7 carp and 3 turtles.

Nice session, man. Looks like those Emcast reels are treating you well.
Is that Big Game line? Love the stuff. Tough as nails and priced right.
Yep, Big Game.
They are kinda slow at my favorite lake, but it should be on fire within a week or 2. Can’t wait
Good luck!
hey i noticed you sometimes wait and slowly reel before really setting the hook. does that help? i’ve noticed they sometimes pull and just stop.
Nice vid, do you always pull your lines tight after your weight hits bottom? if thats your preference any good reason for that? I typically like slack so i can visually detect nibbles =
Always tight lines for me. Better bite indication & hook up rate are the main reasons. With a slack line, you miss the drop back bites.
@@OutsidewithTom thanks Tom👍 I should change up my tactic -
@@patoh4689 Do what works for you, more than one way to catch a carp. 👍
Two nice carp there Tom, looks like you use a lighter drag in the beginning then adjust it as you fight the fish. Sometimes I think I keep my drag too tight have lost fish because of it. I know it's hard to say but how tight or how do you adjust your drag? And great job on reaching 10,000
Yep, I try to keep the drag pretty light to start with, then tighten up or down during the fight as needed. I have also lost fish due to having drag too tight right at the start. Thanks David.
@@OutsidewithTom Thanks for the drag tips
Might get a few more days from that cool water before spawn. Goodluck.
Tom, what is the perfect depth for the pack bait to be effective ?
Does deepwater dissipate the pack bait too much what is your preferred depth?
Water depth has no relationship to pack bait effectiveness. Works the same in 1 foot of water or 20 feet.
@@OutsidewithTom thanks Tom. Love your channel learned a lot from watching your videos and have very much enjoyed catching carp ever since, don’t change a thing. Thanks for sharing.
Your question gave me an idea for a video, thanks Matt.
What means span in fishing
Tom, did you get monetized yet? Or do you make this excellent show for free? I hope you're making money. I really enjoy this show
Monetized yes, but unfortunately CZcams pays pennies and fishing costs dollars, so not really making any money yet, hopefully someday. Glad you enjoy the videos, thanks!
