The Member representing Eleme Constituency at the Rivers State House of Assembly Chief Hon. Engr. Igwe Aforji Obey PhD, FNSE, have warned that whoever parades himself as caretaker committee chairman CTC in Eleme LGA will be charged for contempt of court.
Hon Aforji who made this statement while addressing youth leaders from the various communities in Eleme who took to the street celebrating the judgement of the Supreme Court invalidating the appointment of Caretaker/interim government by state Governors frowned at the activities of Chief Hon. Brain Gokpa which he described as inimical to the peace and security being enjoyed in Eleme LGA for the past three years.
According to Hon. Igwe, “The Federal Government has spoken through the Supreme Court. Whoever Parades as Eleme CTC will be charged with Contempt and will face the law. We are also sending this warning to corporate bodies and multinationals, if they have any dealings with Brain Gokpa in the guise of CTC, they will also face the law. Caretaker have been nullified, by the Supreme Court of Nigeria, they have been declared illegal and we will treat them as such. Whatever actions they have taken are null and void”
Aforji Igwe likened Hon. Gokpa’s anti-social leadership approach as a recipe for anarchy in the once peaceful communities of Eleme following his escapade of forcefully removing and imposing people of questionable characters on the community as youth leaders.
Hon. Igwe Aforji seized the medium to reinstate the all the Community youth Presidents and the Coordinator, Eleme Youth Council Prince Nsan’eo Okereke (aka Prince K) that was removed by Hon. Brain Gokpa led CTC.
Igwe Aforji hailed the verdict of the Supreme Court which granted the 774 local government area councils financial autonomy thus checkmating the excesses of state Governors. He reaffirmed the support of his constituency to the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Hon. Minister of FCT Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike for giving hope the grassroot.
