He's just a great actor. I mostly know him from his role in Prison Break as Alexander Mahone and it was one of my favorite characters of the show. He gave Alex a lot of depth which made his character very easy to relate too, especially later in the series.
What a lovely person William is. I like his acting... He also looks great and I really love the way he speaks. His accent, his diction - can you hear it too or is that just my opinion? He´s very special and I hope he will get his life role soon. PB´s Mahone is wonderful & I hope one day there will be GR8 movie character for William - he will get us on our knees ... again.
I have to give Paul F. Tompkins and man made producers a lot of credit. For me, Fichtner is one of those actor that no one takes the time to get to know. Again, for me, this part of the genius of the program. a great interview
saw this dude casually walking in tribeca talking with another dude. i saw him and he saw me. it was like 3 seconds then, had to go back to my job. it was a whatever moment. dude's taller in life than i thought. i was just a delivery runner.
I never noticed how tall he was until one episode in s.4 of prison break. It's when they are at the warehouse or somewhere and he is running in front of Lincoln, I double took because he legit is like 4 inches taller than Lincoln and Lincoln is already a tall dude! Took me a min to realize wait that was actually him because they don't always have side by side shots of characters showing his true height haha
Man this guy...got so far from being Alex in Prison Break, to Armageddon as Col. Sharp, to Ken Rosenberg of San Andreas, to Date Night, to Sandman of MW3, until to Joshua Adams of ID4 Resurgence. Till today.....he's an awesome actor.
I must confess. I only clicked on this video to hear the introduction and learn how Fichtner's name is pronounced. This is one of the best character actors of all time.
Fantastic interview! I’ve grown to appreciate William Fichtner so much, and he’s fascinating in interviews. Even though I’m not a fan of his favorite things like hockey, race cars, Buffalo, tires, or video games, I think William is incredibly relatable. This comment is years after the original posting, but I just saw Cold Brook, which he wrote and directed, and I loved it!!
William Fichtner Show 1. Harland - American Dad 2005 Movies 2. General Adams -; Independence Day 2 Resurgence 2016 3. Bank Manager - The Dark Knight 2008 4. Sanderson - Black Hawk Down 2001 Games 5. Sandman - Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 2011 6. Ken Rosenberg - Grand Theft Auto Vice City, San Andreas 2002 - 2004
he only had one scene in "Pearl Harbor", almost two decades ago... but he delivered it so well, when somebody mentions that film by name, that scene is the one I vividly recall first before all others........ well.... that and the black dude, peeling potatoes below decks.... then BOOM!
i bumped into him on a movie last year i was working on, it involved a catering van blocking sight around the front end, didn't realize that he is pretty tall
He usually wears a necklace with a black string and a pink circle ..I think he is wearing it in the interview and I am dying to know what it means for him...#crush
man prison break is the best series, and this guy man.. i love him, he's one of the best actors i have ever seen, it's just like i would have reacted exactly like he did in prison break..
Always thought he was cool as hell. Wanted to find out more about his Top Gear America gig. But, I think this interview answered my questions. If you're into cars enough to have a drag car slick table, that pretty much qualifies you for a car show host. Cool dude. Good interview.
It's cool that he goes back to Gloucester, Mass. Been there myself several years ago after the movie came out. Went out on a boat for an hour or so and it was choppy. The wrist bands work.
I only started liking Willaim in the Lone Ranger where he played a character you hated and now I am trying to catch up on everything he was ever in and its a lot.
I love all of these Speakeasy episodes. I watch all of them and enjoy every single 1, even if I'm not necessarily following that star/actor like I do with others. Keep em comin Paul!
Happy Birthday William Fichtner. Your great actor. And a true legend. I love The Dark Knight. Batman is awesome, love it. Also I love, Independence Day 2 Resurgence, koolest alien movie. Science is so amazing. Black Hawk Down is incredible. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, badass, love Soldier movies and games is pretty good. Grand Theft Auto Vice City and San Andreas is better. I played Vice City and San Andreas when I was 10 or 12. It's complicated. U gotta love the action. May the Peace be with u Ken Rosenberg and Sandman. From Harlingen Texas. November 27, 1956 November 27, 2022 through November 27, 3022
These interviews are amazing. I am wondering why there are no musicians? How about a Speakeasy with, say, Steve Gadd? There's so many artists. And I'm greedy. ;)
William Fichtner such an underrated actor

He is good and ages well. He's like 60 or 61 but looks 10 years younger.

you guys have no idea how many time Ive watched through the s2 and s4 of prison break just for him!!
Probably one of the best interviews with an actor on a personal level! I feel like I need a beer when watching!
saw this dude casually walking in tribeca talking with another dude. i saw him and he saw me. it was like 3 seconds then, had to go back to my job. it was a whatever moment. dude's taller in life than i thought. i was just a delivery runner.
Still. Pretty awesome
django jango For some reason I absolutely love your narrative style. I can picture the scene so well... Like a cool film.
I never noticed how tall he was until one episode in s.4 of prison break. It's when they are at the warehouse or somewhere and he is running in front of Lincoln, I double took because he legit is like 4 inches taller than Lincoln and Lincoln is already a tall dude! He should get more credit because he is AWESOME in everything role and I love him.
I've seen him play slimeballs, reasonable authority figures, soldiers, military roles and a fucking FBI agent. This guy deserves an award.
Damn he's the sexiest man alive.
Man this guy...got so far
from being Alex in Prison Break, to Armageddon as Col. Sharp, to Ken Rosenberg of San Andreas, to Date Night, to Sandman of MW3, until to Joshua Adams of ID4 Resurgence. Till today.....he's an awesome actor.
alexander mahone. my favourite character from prison break
A silent giant. Love his character on Mom
he's just Agent Mahone for me :D
For me, you are the one, monsieur Fichtner... as Mahone, as Hickman, as Shérif Underlay, you are simply the best!! Je t'aime très fort!!!
He has sexy eyes
By far one of my favorite actors.
Adored him in a West Wing episode where he played a U.S. Supreme Court Justice. Such a skilled , understated actor.
I watched prison break five times just to enjoy the talent of agent mahone
He mentions people mistakingly shouting "loved you in Independence Day" at him..... and next year he's actually gonna appear in the sequel.
I always like this guy in every movie, but never knew his name
I must confess. I only clicked on this video to hear the introduction and learn how Fichtner's name is pronounced. This is one of the best character actors of all time.
Fantastic interview! I’ve grown to appreciate William Fichtner so much, and he’s fascinating in interviews. For a 56 year old, he's good looking!
i love this man
Masterful actor
I love how he gets dead serious with that "hey, HEY" for a second when the interviewer disrespects his tires.
Great actor ! Steals the scene of many shows his on even thou he wasn't the main actor .
Mrhaoable Yes
Ken Rosenberg! :D
To me he will always be Mahone.
Paul F is a great interviewer! One of the most personable comedians.

Why is he never on late night show? Or major interview show?? Most main actor of prison break never have a major interview show!!!???
He was so good in Contact. A total badass of an actor who should have been way bigger but in reality he’s pretty big time.
