    Built around a more traditional high performance shortboard nose template, my Lost V3 Stealth is 6'2 x 20.75 x 2.69 at 38CL of volume.
    This design results in a board that blends Lost V3 Rocket design with the quickness, performance and visuals of a standard HPSB shortboard.
    Technically, Matt Biolos of Lost Surfboards added length and rocker to the nose, and pulled the forward outline in to more closely resemble a modern shortboard nose template.
    The tail has more pronounced, fluted wings and a more radical “Rocket” diamond at the end.
    The deeper wings add grip and control by reducing surface area. The flutes help the rail to permeate the surface, as well as reduce the rail volume, for more precise and surface permeating carving.
    The bottom still contains the V3’s relaxed centerline rocker, for glide and down the line drive, and a healthy amount of concave. The concave adds considerable lift, and creates a hyper curved rail rocker under the rear foot, allowing the surfer to turn freely and precisely when the board is rolled onto a rail.
    The Lost V3 Stealth offers high speed, wide tail glide for fat faced fun, combined with the ability for fast, vertical, precise pocket surfing...in even marginal conditions.
    Hope you enjoy this Lost V3 Stealth Surfboard Review for CompareSurfboards.com!
    All the best,
    Benny

    I have exactly the same feeling above the "Stealth". Had a V2 Rocket for years as my go-to board and bought the Stealth as a next step.
    I felt that the V2 never disappointed me, could surf it in all type of condition. With the Stealth, it only exhales and flies when the waves get good and hollow.
    So do have any recommendations for a board something in between V2/V3 and Stealth? Need a board between the puddle jumper and my bigger surf shortboard.
    Thanks for the show and happy new year
    Robin

      Great to hear your experience, thanks for sharing Robin. Have you looked at the JS Blak Box 2? Or for something a little different, the Gary McNeill Entity?

      @@Comparesurfboards I have checked them out, both look great. Just a bit to much performance for my home break, which is often onshore and mushy. I have checked out "Pyzel, gremlin" and "Fourth, weekend rockstar"

    My brother has the V3 Rockets. I went with the Stealth for that reason you highlight, the board lights up in better performance waves. It is now my go-to board, actually my only board I ride.

    Picked one of these up a couple weeks ago. I'm an average surfer, and it's taken a three solid sessions to actually feel confident on it. I don't think it's as user friendly as other lost boards, but once you start to connect with it, you start to feel the pure possibilities on this board. And now i'm really loving it.
    It definitely needs min waist/stomach high and up wave to start to feel it perform imo.
    Taking it to Fiji next month and hoping to get into some good ones with it.
    Thanks for the review!

    I have this board and love it in clean and choppy surf, it likes to to be surfed tight to the pocket and demands the rider to find those steeper bowl sections to hit. Ihave found it to really shine in punchy surf chest high and above, coming off an tomo skx which likes to be driven more off the back foot i found the stealth likes more of a neutral stance...
    I don't agree with the fins in this review the board is so pivotal already so bigger and. More raked fins like the am's and carvers settled it down for me
    Im 84kg and ride 5'11 30l

    seems that board would do well w a quad set up tho w those channels dunno if you tried that also w a center fin plug would make a difference but quads don’t really go vertical easily in my experience

    Could you do a review of the Van Der Waal traction pads? I’m a new surfer and wanted to see what your opinion is on that brand verses the thicker traction pads.

    I noticed too that lost shape are so friendly with guy like me 189lbs 86kilos ,'maybe because the master shape are based on matt biolos , not skinny regular pro surfer ;-) plus their two size system bro and pro dim are really good.

    do you think the stealth would be a good part of a maldives quiver? southern atolls specifically

  • @nalukeko
    @nalukeko Před 5 lety +3

    How did you size this compared to your V3? When I sat down with Matt to get my custom Stealth he pretty much pulled up my V3 from the prior year and shaped the stealth outline so that my V3 fit into the stealth. You could see where the nose of the stealth extended. I went in expecting to get a stealth with same or slightly less liters, but instead he added an inch and thus a liter or two. He tweaked the thickness and rails so it wouldn't balloon too much off the V3. Off the rack I would have totally picked the wrong size. But Matt really knows how to fit a board to a person (even an average surfer like me). Gotta trust him on that. I also love how much time he takes when he sits down with you. I always wait for his local shapers night events, to sit with him personally.
    Also, I didn't put channels into mine. Both Matt and Nate Yeomans commented how a stealth with channels tends to get air underneath if the wave has some bump. Maybe that's where you experienced some of the instability?

    • @Comparesurfboards
      @Comparesurfboards  Před 5 lety

      Matt Biolos is an awesome shaper and person (I don't pretend to know him but have met him once and his reputation is outstanding. He has such a wealth of experience about boards, too, consider yourself lucky that you've had some time with him!
      To you question, I did almost the same as you. I was on a 6'2 V3 Rocket and my Stealth was a little longer but with similar volume. Still, you are always going to have a better experience when a master shaper is there to guide you to the right result!

    Also lost boards are way smaller than they look. The nose and tails are super thinned out.

    • @Comparesurfboards
      @Comparesurfboards  Před 5 lety +1

      Interesting Justin - that's not my experience. This V3 Stealth does have a pulled in and thinned out nose but most ...Lost's I get have a pretty generous foil throughout. Then again, I don't go for the high performance stuff very often. Regardless, good to hear your feedback
