jose ortiz, somebody shoulda dragged him from behind the wheel. That was incredibly frustrating to watch, nothing like an incompetent moron in a large vehicle. Geez!
LMAO you beat me to it!, I was going to say the same thing! đ. Not even the suburban trying to pull it was even air down. FYI to all air down to 12-15psi and you will get around almost anywhere on there in just 2wd.
Correct. I used to take my 4 door sedan over the soft sand back in 1961 by lowering the air pressure. Never a problem. But I'll NEVER take my motorhome on the sand. It stays on the pavement or graveled roads.
You knew how to use a snatch rope as it was intended to be used and did so. Nice truck BTW đ First guy didnât have a clue how it was supposed to be done. He was just slowly putting tension on the strap and as soon as it got tight he started spinning and digging himself down.
Back in the mid '70s we drove our '67 Dodge truck/camper all the way back to BBQ Flats. Balls out with two sandrails towing it.....pretty much couldn't see a thing due to the sand coming off the paddle tires. :oD
That was awesome, you could hear the fiberglass crack as the frame stretched lol, and thatâs why nice things donât stay nice long around stupid people
You thinking about the 1980's models bud. They're one piece now on those fleetwoods. You'd be surprised how long they last. I stayed in an 18 year old class A that even smelled fresh. That's if you don't yank them with 900 lbs of torque in the sand....
I was waiting more to see when the strap was going to break and cut someone's head off. Or at least give them a stinger they would remember the rest of their life.
Want to take my kids to a beach like this. But my truck is only RWD. Don't want to spend the entire day trying to dig out my truck. Nice truck by the way.
My father inlaw almost shit himself when I jerked his 40ft diesel motorhome out of a three foot hole (don't ask!) With my 4 cylinder Tacoma. He had that motorhome so twisted with the jacks trying to get out that the windshield cracked! I was so pissd when I got home, and it wasn't even my motorhome!
It wasn't. It was a cargo binding strap like truckers use to hold down pipe and square loads. Surprised it didn't break the first time they jerked on it.
c3h8O It's not the same as a normal diff in a truck but yes there is an axle going across the front which is called a solid beam front axle. Watch the video. You can see it when the diesel truck pulls hard.
Being a Brit I have little knowledge of the subject, but I used to have a 1986 Winnebago Minnie Winnie on a Toyota chassis cab, which had IFS. I now have a Damon Challenger on a Chevrolet P30 chassis, which also has IFS. In it's case there was also an option for a Ford chassis, which may well have had a beam axle. What puzzles me is all those chassis, plus many others, have a 4X4 option, why did RV manufacturers never choose it. Take the thumbnail, lose the strap, Suburban and trailer and it'd look like an RV brochure cover picture. They're selling a lifestyle they cannot deliver.
First thing I would have done was find a chain so you can get a running start with out having to worry as much on snapping. Oh hey look a truck đ gotta love America đ
joshua12345676 your correct. A rope or a strap is better. When I was 17 my buddy had a chain snap and come back onto his windshield and cab. Your correct on use what you got. I grew up hearing that saying.
J Walker both could happen but mainly the ball becoming a projectile heading straight for what's attached to the other end. Considering its a huge RV on the beach where it doesn't belong , then attaching it to just the tow ball seems to be just asking for it. As obviously at this point commonsense had lost in all that sand.
j Walker, the snatch strap works like a giant rubber band, not a rope as such, The inertia or energy stored when in use is measured in tonnes, enough to move the bogged RV from the sand. If the tow ball shears off it becomes a projectile. Something like a cannonball. Anyone driving on the beach should be aware of the basics. These clueless people should spend five min on the net. It could save a life.
Nice. I was there last year and almost got stuck with my dually. Will be back this year for 5 weeks. Coming from Green Bay WI. Love Pismo beach and the people.
well more of air down those tires; problem on those big campers; how far down can you air out before it pops off rim. My little jeep like 15PSI for most soft sand beaches.
First thing motorhome driver should have done is not drive in sand thats not packed down. Second, you could have got the fresh water hose out and sprayed water under all the tires and made life alot easier.
They are called a 'snap strap' for a reason. You are supposed to snap it. They don't work as well if you load up the tension then pull. Leave some slack, then snap it. The sudden snap gets it moving then you just keep going.
Those wheels and tires are not for the sand...... Need more tire than wheel! TO AIR DOWN! but then again an awesome looking truck pulled it all out with ease! I sure do hope those guys owe you big time!
FATBOY LLC how is it stupid that he watched for 2 hours I think itâs entertaining.... people think they some badass with their RVs and shit but take em in the sand and get stuck ALL THE TIME .... I would have done the same thing ....
Yep. Why should anybody waste their time and maybe even tear their rig up for a moron who didn't listen to anything he was told? That moron is lucky that Got Sand? decided to help him, or he'd likely still be there. I can see it now overheated, outta fuel and still in the exact same spot.
Top effort man, but for you and everyone around the areaâs safety, use the pin in your towbar instead of the ball, cause when those balls shear, shit gets wild.
lol, it's empty and is a tandem axle. You're really reaching at that point. Why not start unloading the RV, that'd probably make a bigger difference since those were the tires that were sinking.
Next time, before you go in the sand, partially deflate your tires. This will give you a greater service area width as well as length surface on the sand and give you better traction. It may even help you get unstuckâŠ

bigtime towing tip: make sure recovery vehicle is lined up with the stuck vehicle- you'll get much more pulling power. Also, get another truck and use two trucks, first one pulling the other recovery vehicle.
Couple of tips. You should use a elastic(bungie) type strap when yanking like that avoid damage to the vehicles and anytime you pull like that place a piece of carpet or floor mats across the tow strap. Something with some weight to it so if your ball does snap it and the hook are not shot back at one of vehicles like a slingshot. The weight of the carpet or whatever limits the travel and makes the strap drop to the ground. Learned that the first time I saw a tow strap shatter the back window of the truck doing the pulling. Just my $.02
This happened to me at Pismo Beach some years back. It's better to drive closer to the beach where the sand is wet and packed Also be careful because I got a speeding ticket driving out of Pismo Beach on the beach sand. Never saw the Ranger it was pretty foggy that day too
Props to that woman for running that beer to him !
I like how they never put their beer down....
They must have been trained by Aussie's.
On this day no one said "hold my beer and watch this." And that is why they're stuck.
Hydration is key
Beer is Very Important when getting an RV up out of the sand
Fitzy Holden I think they're from txt. That beach looks like South Padre
Legend has it he dragged him all the way home
....
jose ortiz lmfao
jose ortiz, somebody shoulda dragged him from behind the wheel. That was incredibly frustrating to watch, nothing like an incompetent moron in a large vehicle. Geez!
youre talking about the truck guy right? Pretty sure its the same guy from this video. czcams.com/video/dw1xZxUssfs/video.html
đ yanked the shit out a that apartment!
đ good shit
Returned RV to rental dealer ....â Any problems ? â. â Nahh the thinga was great â
Dude in the silverado hit the steering wheel hard đ
Alejandro Fernandez đ I had to rewatch it thatâs true not once but twice đ
I had to go back to see that đđ»đđ€Ł
The horn even honked a little. lol. Chevy drivers are morons.
5:23 SLOW MODE
Alejandro Fernandez Clearly a Sierra but same shit.
So nobody gonna say anything about that gmc owner kissing the horn with his face?? Carry onnnn.....
Omg you're right
Hahhahahhahahha
They call that the old cling and jerk...
Fuck thats funny i had to go back an have a look lol
Dude...didnt notice till i read your comment...đđđ
That RV needs to stay on asphalt....and those dudes need to learn how to air down their tires in sand.
mixflip air down -- all
Day on the sand...
mixflip j
LMAO you beat me to it!, I was going to say the same thing! đ. Not even the suburban trying to pull it was even air down. FYI to all air down to 12-15psi and you will get around almost anywhere on there in just 2wd.
Airing down low profile shit like they have doesn't help near as much. Lose the 20s and it'll be way better off road.
Correct. I used to take my 4 door sedan over the soft sand back in 1961 by lowering the air pressure. Never a problem. But I'll NEVER take my motorhome on the sand. It stays on the pavement or graveled roads.
I got stuck this weekend too, and some kind soul pulled me out .THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!! Helping someone always comes back to you.
Dont hand him a beer.. this is a hold my beer moment lol
Someone is gonna get killed when that tow ball breaks off.
You knew how to use a snatch rope as it was intended to be used and did so. Nice truck BTW đ
First guy didnât have a clue how it was supposed to be done. He was just slowly putting tension on the strap and as soon as it got tight he started spinning and digging himself down.
Lmfao they were buzzing good when they made that decision

Man you are a hero. Didn't you get a medal for this?
Not sure why the RV is in the sand in the first place. It's made for the road.
Mark Hutchinson OK COOL THANKS FOR INFO!!ân
The road is boring letâs go off-road
Luis Martinez your text is boring LETS GO ALL CAPS!!!
Mark Hutchinson HAVE YOU LEARNED WHERE THE CAPS LOCK KEY IS YET?
WHY ARE YOU SCREAMING?
Youâre a saint! Everyone else is sitting back, drinkin a cold beer and laughing their asses off...đ
That was awesome, you could hear the fiberglass crack as the frame stretched lol, and thatâs why nice things donât stay nice long around stupid people
Ozni Wellman wait whaat?? These things have to get resealed? Some expensive house on wheels i swear

I think that was the front axle. đ
It's all good, I'm sure it's a rental
Azdrtdog agree
You can hear the truck horn beep as ol' boy slams into the column. Hahaha....love this shit.
Who else was waiting for the towball too snap off and go through the R/V's windshield
I was waiting more to see when the strap was going to break and cut someone's head off. Or at least give them a stinger they would remember the rest of their life.
@@zoomiemonster5610 Short ropes / straps / cables can't do that. Not enough energy. (I'm a logger......)
That would never happen
I thought that right at the very start! đ
This is exactly how I want to spend my Memorial Day holiday weekend!
I think I heard the front axle of the RV start to rip away from the frame on that last pull.
Mesaba I was thinking the same. He yanked the shit out of it.
Thatâs why you should pull the strap taught before taking off
IT'SME nope
IT'SME they do have an axle for for the roof tho.
@@dutchbishop1192 you could not be more wrong.
That Silverado is a beast!!!
5:20 kissed the steering wheel. Good Truck!

Boing!!! At least the guy in the truck knows how to use a damn jerk strap.

He had that motorhome so twisted with the jacks trying to get out that the windshield cracked! I was so pissd when I got home, and it wasn't even my motorhome!
Honda Man
That's what I thought. I don't think the first one was even a towing strap.
It wasn't. It was a cargo binding strap like truckers use to hold down pipe and square loads. Surprised it didn't break the first time they jerked on it.
Thanks for helping out a fellow American.
after digging out a path, wet the sand and wait about 5 minutes. will compact for better traction
Mark M or get someone with a real truck to pull it
Yeah, highway tires too boot, but gotta make do.
Mark M ..or...keep 15000lbs off the beach and on pavement.
But you get that perfect spot with no neighbors. Brings a beached whale to mind.
It's sand, it does not pack down with time, that's not smart.
Legend has it it's still pulling it to the next 2018 memorial day đ
Take the trailer off too..
We told him but he did not do it
I doubt less than a 1,000 lb trailer would make a difference
Chris Cardoza one of my firsts thoughts !
Kyle Wilson you dont know much about nuthin' der ya?
Chris, actually it sounds like you guys don't.
Damn near ripped the front axle out of the motorhome with that last pull
Clint .R that's because the gmc don't play around
c3h8O
It's not the same as a normal diff in a truck but yes there is an axle going across the front which is called a solid beam front axle. Watch the video. You can see it when the diesel truck pulls hard.
The front axle on the RV has a locking diff
Being a Brit I have little knowledge of the subject, but I used to have a 1986 Winnebago Minnie Winnie on a Toyota chassis cab, which had IFS. The only way that giant RV will ever come out is if you drink the beer first..... that would have been terrible if she fell and spilt the Modelo!
Another ladie saves the day... đșđș
Do yourself a favor and just skip to the end.
Legend has it....He dragged the front end home only.....lol
The reason why I always take plywood to pismo to block the breeze on Saturday and to put in front of tires to get out on Sunday. Good times
They must be visiting from Bakersfield HAHAHHAAHA! The locals will always show how it's done.
Unhook the dam trailer lower the pressure in the tires

That loud crunch was his two front teeth hitting the steering wheel
Whesley Otero or something under RV breaking.
First thing I would have done was find a chain so you can get a running start with out having to worry as much on snapping. Oh hey look a truck đ gotta love America đ
Well you use what you got. A proper recovery rope/strap is the best.
joshua12345676 your correct. A rope or a strap is better. When I was 17 my buddy had a chain snap and come back onto his windshield and cab. Your correct on use what you got. I grew up hearing that saying.
Should never use a toe ball for that. It's a wonder someone wasn't hurt. Whole thing is a lesson in what not to do.
Bob A glad someone pointed that out!
What I was thinking too.
Also that guy standing around between the vehicles waiting for a towball in the face has a death wish.
That is one of the most dangerous things you can do off road. Surly a quick google on how to tackle sand would have been a good idea.
J Walker both could happen but mainly the ball becoming a projectile heading straight for what's attached to the other end. Why do people insist on taking 20000 lb motorhomes in on to the beach I never could figure that out
I take my 14000lb empty truck out there? Is it the weight that's the problem or the lack of traction?
Travis Fullerton weight combined with the solidity of the ground and the surface area of tires and # of tires.
well more of air down those tires; problem on those big campers; how far down can you air out before it pops off rim.
My little jeep like 15PSI for most soft sand beaches.
I just bought a 42,000lb diesel class A motor-home, I'm taken it to the beach, then calling YOU to come help get me out!!! (just kidding!)
only kidding, there is no way in hell i'm taken my coach on a beach, I'll walk to the sand....................

I will never understand why people put tow straps around trailer hitches, that can kill somebody or do big damage
Wheres the proper way to put it

They are called a 'snap strap' for a reason. You are supposed to snap it. They don't work as well if you load up the tension then pull. Leave some slack, then snap it. The sudden snap gets it moving then you just keep going.

stop allowing motorhomes or any non 4wd vehicles on the beach. what a joke
We have to go check out this place when pass by. Good footage.

Just use the hitch pin. Using the tow ball is crazy dangerous
Emp Ty You think a hitch pin would be safer. Several dead farmers would argue
Rollin Nolan pin vs a large heavy ball. And a pin wonât fly out.
Emp Ty What is this pin you're speaking of made of
Rollin Nolan đ. 1 side of the hitch pin is usually bent so it wonât slide out.
