Nako Alan, I am 59 yrs old ... at YAN ang pangarap ko pagtanda ko pa more and living my golden yrs in the Phils... I even found a lot reasonably priced at the Filipiniana section in SM Mall.. But to get what I want for everyday or casual use, siyempre ay maganda ang magaling na mananahi at knowing where to get good but reasonably priced textiles...
Iba tagaga si Cat.. Nakaka Filipina.

Mahal naman wala kasing affordable version meron man iba naman na design d gaya ng mga india at Korean pag me mga occasion sila majority sa kanila suot mga national costume nila kasi me mga affordable
Adelina Obillo meron ako nakita sa Bench na modern Filipiñana for everyday wear. Meron sila nung vest na may butterfly sleeves na puede pangibabaw sa tshirt. Sa Kultura naman sa SM yung mga semi formal gaya ng office barong at mga kimona pang-simba at pang-ninang sa binyag or kasal haha

Funfact: I just want to add na yung evolution ng Maria Clara/Filipiniana's sleeves and panuelo ay kasabay ng pag usbong ng women's rights sa bansa. You see the more the dress was opened up, the more Filipinas began having more freedom as women. The way it evolved was influenced by the development of women's rights sa bansa natin lalo na noong mga panahong 1880s up to 1920s kung saan nagsisimula na ang awareness about women's rights. By 1930s, Filipiniana started to be seen as too formal for everyday wear and since hemlines began to rise in 1920s, nagsimula na din iadopt ng mga Filipinas ang mga western style na clothing.
Same yan din naisip ko habang nag eevolve ang dress nagiging progressive din ang stand ng mga babae sa lipunan natin.

Queen Catriona is really an inspirational to everyone not only for Filipinos. She is so genuine to fulfill her promise in promoting traditional clothes and tribal/indigenous fabrics ( from luzon, visayas and mindanao) before she competed Miss Universe 2018. So, she is doing it right now! to give back after she won Miss Universe 2018. I really respect and admire her for that kind gesture... God bless you more Queen Catriona Gray.

I love this episode, this is how you wear a traditional costume properly based on history.
Philippine costume actually looks better when worn combining all those cloth layers. Unlike what we saw in school buwan ng wika usually with just one layer cloth because it's easier to prepare. Bonga Naman Tayo. Hope may nakikita ako nito back in class buwan ng wika.

yes lets have a revival I remember during the 80's nag karoon ng revival ang Muslim inspired costume ginawang modern ang idea super ganda halos lahat ng mga artista at mga nasa high society iyon suot nila I wish it will come back. Ang nag design nuon si Ben Farrales for Jamas Boutique .

I wish there was an English translation so that your videos, promoting culture, arts and heritage can be widely viewed and also understood. I Iove the history and evolution of our wardrobe. As someone who was born there, grew up in the Phils my kids in the US would be very much interested in watching and seeing this. I remember my Lola when I was a little kid... she has sapatilla same sa shoes na sinuot mo - it is something velvety with beads... medyo may transition na ang mga kasuotan so yung marember q na lng is that my lola also wears panyeta sa hair nya... wears a patadyong, camison with matching bakya (clogs)... it all bring back memories...
