One time my Emirates flight overbooked and while profusely apologizing, told me that I had been put in first class on the same flight rather than being kicked off. Idk why they were apologizing: I got champagne, a robe and slippers, and my own private room. Needless to say Emirates is still my favorite airline and it was the best $600 I ever spent
$600?? You got a steal

Meanwhile on SIA I think you get priority for seat upgrading in case of overbooking if you're a frequent flyer
@@stuffwithsoph8264 Yep they didn't charge me a penny extra, so I got all that for economy prices. And some free food vouchers for the dubai airport. Emirates does NOT mess around when it comes to customer service, and even though I'm not a frequent flyer anymore, I still love them for it.
It happened with us too.Not with Emirates but with Turkish airlines.Tte flight was overbooked and because my mother travels a lot they could see her Miles and smiles and because she had many we got to first class
Helpful summary. Worth noting, service escalation makes today’s Biz Class much better than First Class 15 years ago. Regardless the class, I can spend days at a time at a window seat - as long as I get breaks!
By service escalation do you mean that airlines figure business class customers repeat more often and so are worth dedicating a better level of customer service to (if not purely physical comforts) than first class customers? Makes sense!
@@Lailas776 First Class has also improved - a lot! 180° lie flat seats were rare, even in First Class until 22 years ago. The popular American Airlines intl Biz Class would be par for Premium Economy, today. And they still flew that JFK to Geneva in 2008.
Depends on if you're flying overseas or not, if not business isn't much diff than economy, and first class is nothing like the business class he shows
@@jonslg240 I took an American Airlines flight from MIA to JFK in business class during 2021, and had full lay flat seats. It was so ridiculously cheap, I believe AA was using their “international” planes domestically due to lack of demand at the time.
Window seats are only good when flying over lane imo because there isn’t much to see in the ocean unless flying over coastal waters
I am proud passenger of Cargo class. Its rather cold out there but it is what it is
Its a bit of a hassle going with the baggage, especially in the airports, but the price makes it worth it.
the hypothermia is always a drag, but we gotta do what we gotta do!
@@Eis_ I personally found the traveling around conveyor belts rather amusing compared to queueing in the airport terminal. It is the ground staff that bother me, they trow us around too hard that sometimes my back hurt. But hey each for their own, right?
Other class gets travelator like once or twice while cargo class is always on automated traveling platforms from origin to destination, not to mention being escorted and even lifted onto the plane. Definitely a win.
@@EukalyptusBonBon Ahh yes, I agree! The conveyer belts are quite fun and kind of remind me of the scene from Toy Story 2 when Buzz and the gang are searching for Woody.

For flights that long, get a prescription for Ambien (If you live in the US), and you will sleep at least 6 to 7 hours of it.
@@jamiecloud1897 can you get a prescription just for a flight or do you have to make some shit up to tell the doctor to get them to write the prescription
@@scotthill1600 I don't believe Ambien is a controlled substance like Percocet and Vicodin are. I would recommend that you go to your doctor and just tell them the truth, that you're going to be in a plane all night long, it's going to be uncomfortable, and you're wondering if you could get a prescription for Ambien. When you get the prescription, I recommend that you try it out a couple of times in your home environment to see how you react to it before going on the plane. The extended release version of the drug should help you sleep continuously for at least 6, 7 or 8 hours. I would recommend not mixing it with alcohol. That is never a good idea with sleeping medicines.
Someone has never flown with the military for deployment
One time I was on an Lufthansa flight from Tokyo back to Frankfurt am Main Germany in economy, so when it was lunchtime I expected the usual aluminium dish. But as everyone around our got their food my seat and my two seat neighbours didn't, turns out we ordered the same dish and due to some kind of mistake they didn't brought enough of it with them, to make up for it they offered us "a very nice chicken" and it was very nice indeed, it was one of the best chickens I've ever had. When I asked the stewdess about it she told us that it was a first class chicken. So there we where with plastic cutlery and plastic cups with cheep orange juice and a chicken on porcelain plates while everyone around us ate the usual economy dish, it felt somewhat surreal. 😂
But man that chicken was good!

Absolutely. To me a flight in business class is part of the vacation, something I'm looking forward just as much as any visit or excursion I might have planned, at my destination. I want to enjoy it. I remember the end of a 14 hours flight from Japan and the acute desire for it to last a couple more. I was just having a great time.

All I want is enough money to have a smaII home a smaII amount of land, and just enough money that I am not obligated to anyone else for bills or food.
I'm poor and I honestly don't think I'm missing out on anything. Let's just ignore the engineering and building materials of the plane itself. Instead just focus on all of these creature comforts for a moment. Realistically, those materials are all pretty cheap and common place. You're looking at varied forms of plastic, cotton, steel, and maybe some wood. No precious metals, rare fabrics, or exotic materials. Then there is the food. It's not like there is a Michelin-starred chef onboard preparing it fresh right there. It's a premade meal. Made from the same food found at any Costco. You can buy the same alcohol at any BevMo, it's not like it's an exclusive or vintage bottle they're giving you a glass of. All other beverages are just soda, juice, and water. Again, nothing you can't buy at Walmart. Plus just look at the design. It's all done in a minimalist style for ease of cleaning. Honestly, the only cool thing about the style factor is how it ties in with the engineering behind the plane to enable certain things to be used as floatation devices, compact storage, etc. But because it's minimalist, which is the easiest interior design model, it's nothing exceptionally difficult to replicate. The irony of it too is that minimalism was created as a way for poor people to have a stylish atmosphere, without compromising their bank accounts.
All in all, there is actually nothing particularly remarkable about any of this. It's the equivalent of a $45-60 per night stay in a Best Western. What makes it unique is the fact that it's on an airplane. Which honestly, should kind of make you laugh. Because there are people out there who just paid $1.5k-3k to sleep in a cheap bed and use a faux wood side table and have a premade meal that was reheated in a microwave.
I get your comment was probably a joke. But just keep that in mind when you see stuff like this. Like really look at what exactly people are buying. Because it's usually not as unique or amazing as it's perceived to be.

The problem is that you don’t want to sleep on Business class or first class flights. It’s almost as if it’s a part of the vacation (if you are using it for vacation) or the highlight of your business trip. I have flown a few times in businesses and even 16 hour flights you end up wishing it was longer. Compared to economy class I was wishing the flight was over and it was only 14 hours.

most people flying business or first don't pay the ticketed price, rather upgrade with frequent flyer programs or buy them outright with FF points (+taxes). I snagged a first class flight from Aus to Europe on emirates this way late last year for less than the equivalent outright price of an economy ticket.

The only time I've had a "first class" experience was on a train. I was going home from my parent's and when I was booking the tickets, only first class were available on the website. There were standard tickets, but you had to buy them on the app and were only a couple of quid cheaper. First class was pretty similar to standard (hence the quotation marks at the beginning) except there was maybe a little bit more room (not that I could tell because it was filled by my bags) and you could get complimentary food and drink. I didn't end up getting anything because I was too shy to ask for anything, but I should have done it because I could have had it as an early lunch instead of having something at home, and it would have offset the extra cost of the ticket.

As someone who has flown internationally in all three classes, he’s not entirely correct. For airlines like Turkish/eithad/Emirates/Qatar, the business class seats on long haul flights straighten out into a full bed, and they also fit on a mattress for you. Etihad’s first class equivalent, called the residence, is basically like a hotel suite with beds and a bathroom (I’ve been on the flight that has the residence but never experienced it myself), whereas other first class options (like emirates) has additional privacy like a door, a better in flight bar, built in vanity table and access to a shower on air (which most long haul business classes don’t). I personally haven’t felt a significant difference between most business class and first class seats, especially when you’re experiencing something like QSuites (where you already have the added privacy at business class).
Thanks. First helpful summary I've heard in a while.
Keeping the rich away from the peasants.
I agree with you. There is a big difference between economy and business, first class a luxury but not worth double the fare.
It's like how First Class mail is standard and the slowest mode for small letters and packages, and with zero insurance.
Good to know. Thank you for your insight on the matter. I just got back from a two week vacation. One week in South Korea and one week in Japan. So this is all new to me lol
"In a nutshell, business class wastes your money, and first class does so even more."
Well, its better than being crammed into a seat with 2 inches of leg room
BINGO
Totally agree, you'll find the comfort you need in business class
Flew business class to Korea for the first time. Life changing for that flight
It's the window seat for MEEEE💯❤️
Me who has never been on a flight longer than 2 hours and just gets shoved in a chair with 6 inches of clearance for legs and backpack:
Love how I'm taking notes on something I'll never experience
i like these videos purely help ensure this chad keeps getting his comfy flights
Luxurious first class it it.
As an American, I feel cheated out of my Luxury.
Most airlines have stuff like this on longer flights. Except American.
Reminder folks, it won't matter what class you are in when the plane goes into a nosedive 👍
thansk Bert Bert
It will, uncomfortable death or drunk comfortable death
Apparently still safer than driving a car.
Neat.
Chances of dying in a plane crash are significantly less than chances of dying in a car crash. But we still drive cars every day despite that.
I’ve only ever flown business class, definitely an upgrade!
One time when my family and I were on a trip to Turkey, the airline messed up our tickets (we went there by tour group and our family member is the only family that the airline messed up😂), we ended up getting a business class on our back home. It was a nice memory ❤❤
Zurich Airport, so beautiful🥰
I've been flying since I was 5, going from one side of the world to the literal opposite side, and I'll say this: curiosity and gratitude are where it's at.
Even just a little bit will make your transportation, airport, and flying experiences into adventures you wouldn't trade for anything.
Well expressed. That being said, I’m even more enthusiastic in front of the bus!
I usually go economy and save money for the destination
@@jakekeil7715 I hear ya!
Business class is quite a luxurious experience depending on airline still. Qatar’s business makes you feel like a prince just like yo momma did
Id love some friends like this, happy birthday!
The difference is something I will never know …
Disregard US first class. :( sad to hear this. But most US millionaires just fly private.
I meant domestic first because it's not actually "first class"😅
@@NonstopDan totally agree with you still. I love your vids.
now i just gotta become rich and travel around the world everywhere
The true luxury for me is the amount of space you have in first class compared to the other classes 😊
