- Capturing the journey of a MG Midget 1275 RWA from restoration project to participation in the 2022 MG Car Club speed series. This is MG Midget, the birth of a Racecar exploring the highs and lows of classic car restoration and bringing the car upto specification for sprinting, hill climbs and trackdays
In this episode we revisit the rear suspension to fit a Panhard rod and lowering blocks
I lowered my Midget 1500 last week and both your videos were very helpful. Not quite so straightforward on a 45 year old car with old nuts & bolts and lots of under seal but the method was spot on.
Glad it helped. thanks for watching
The Panhard bar needs to be attached to THE REAR AXLE, not the leaf spring like you have it.
the challenge is there are not too many places to fit it to. so most kits go off the lower spring bracket
Are these moss leaf springs? Peter May sell lowered springs- expensive but I assume these remove the need for the lower kit
No originally from magic midget and now custom rebuilt and reverse eyed to lower it a further inch
nice build! looking forward seeing it in action.
any hp numbers?
Thx for the comment. No HP nos yet. rolling road next month so final tuning still to come
Nice job. From which supplier did you source the panhard rod and attachment bracket? Cheers JP
It was MOSS from memory although several retailers sell them
We're you get then suspetion ?
Suspension came from Ebay, Moss and other UK MG spares providers. Most will ship internationally
