Potato Reveal | Harvest Potatoes With Me

  • From now on potatoes demand a separate video :)
I have set a goal that I am eager to achieve, and filming the process of success is crucial for analysing everything that contributes to it every year.
P.S. Don't worry about me digging barefoot :) that's another ritual I've got, the same as dressing up in red when I harvest watermelons. We all have some weirdness inside of our minds.

Potatoes are so important to many people as a large part of daily food and if you can show someone how or why to grow different varieties rather than depend on poor quality store bought ,that's just being a super nice person.

When I was little I used to get up early on a Saturday morning… make myself a cup of tea and some toast…( it was my time)… and watch a tv show called “ The Modern Farmer “… I remember being amazed at all the intricate details and how much I learned… I always remember being 8 years old and knowing and understanding about crop rotation…😛 and its importance. I’d be interested in information on storage for the potatoes and other vegetables that sustain you throughout the winter months.

❤Katsiaryna, thank you for sharing your exciting harvest - that is a mountain of potatoes! Your soil looks very rich and easy to work with - our soil is full of clay and gets very hard over the summer so it's been quite a chore to dig, and our harvest was not nearly as good as yours. I hope your raccoons don't help themselves to your corn - they love eating the corn here. All the best, Rory.

That's a top crop. Very impressive 👍 In your videos I haven't noticed whether you grow early potato varieties? The ones harvested early when they're small and sweet. I usually get earlies in around now and begin harvest in November. Opposite seasons though 🙂 The first harvest I "Bandicoot", tickle the biggest ones without pulling whole plant. When the plant is harvested I plant another seed in its place and can get two crops per season.

I don't know heaps about potatoes but there's a farm in Australia that only grows them and grows 40 different kinds, I think that's the max?
Same kinds as you have in this video.
And they were saying there's 2 types of potatoes, one group that's good for mashing and the other is good for hot potato chips and cooking with.
There's grades based on how it melts in the mouth.
I think you have the 2 types, i think the purple ones are not for cooking and the whole ones are for the mashing.
You'd need to look it up for the exact types etc to know 100%
The other interesting thing about potatoes is it's the only food that acts exactly the same chocolate, so it melts mouth the same way and has the same effect as chocolate so removes the want for chocolate. 😊
    From Australia.

I would eat so much салат with a mix of those cooked just right would be delicious. Salt baked potatoes feel really surprisingly fancy if you got some extra salt it’s a good recipe. I get a couple potatoes with a free community supported agriculture bag I’ve been receiving from my community lately and making potato chips with sumac dust which is new to me I have been harvesting this flower and it’s so delicious and convenient that it’s an easy seasoning powder that tastes just like dehydrated lime seasoning powder with this added bit of being made of floral petals kinda reminds me of actual red velvet cloths in texture a really nice little thing about living in Eastern United States. Also if it doesn’t raise too many eyebrows in the village I love lefse. I never forget the festival in your village and the table of food. Some nice chocolad kartoshka made with homemade potato starch/flour would be really satisfying.
