True craftsmen, each responsible for building an entire engine from the ground up. Relaxed working pace, no on the line assembly stations with fast working pace.

Amazing craftsmanship. I ride a R1200RT daily, and have had the opportunity to ride a K1600 a few times. I want one. What an amazing machine.

This is one of the smoothest turbine like powerplant I have ever owned.

I think the power plant as you cal it, is severely under powered… BMW could have done a lot more to these motors to make them truly formidable, without jeopardising quality or reliability… I did my own valve clearances the other day, and couldn’t believe there is no ramp on the cams… a single 52mm throttle body for 6 cylinders, etc…

Im admiring how the engineers have done their homework and developed this engine. Its truly amazing how that this machine does what it does and what a powerplant it is!! It could be developed to be used in emergency generators to power say one entire building in an apartment complex for use during a Brown -Out that occurs when the power company lines are broken in a storm or rain, big hail, and tree branches tearing them up. Its not a far- fetched idea, really. I would be willing to test one in my house to see how it works in a situation like that. I know Kohler has a division that makes those, but not sure if they use a Wisconsin -Robin engine or who they use. Wisconsin- Robin is a Very Good Choice for an engine, and so is the slant/6 Chrysler engine. All of them are well proven in industrial heavy duty use applications. All of those choices would be great choices for use in generators. Im talking Grocery Store applications and Residential home applications too.

this is the biggest garbage out of the engine I had, 2 months I wait for the water pump to get to the warehouse and it has not arrived yet, when you buy a bmw you are happy but when you sell it even happier, all in all a disaster and negligence for the customer .....

@@theonlyredspecial unfortunately in my case the water pump was not in stock in the central parts warehouse, with the same pump bmw has a problem since the introduction of k48, not to mention that they had a recall of the same and changed the part number 4 times, I wrote in motorrad munchen and got the answer that they are sorry but to be patient for a few more weeks after 2.5 months of waiting it is unacceptable because the engine is used for seasonal driving that has failed, in short it is a scam for so much money.
