The way the author did this is honestly brilliant. Bc here's the original matchup schedule. Adam vs Shiva. Sakaki vs Poseidon Hercules vs Jack the Ripper. Zeus vs Raiden Tameemon. If Zeus hadn't take Shiva's place, Shiva wouldve lost in a few seconds and Zeus would've killed Raiden in one shot. The author made this fight in particular more heartbreaking and devastating so that the very first win in this tournament for the human side would be by historys greatest loser beating the third strongest god in the Greek pantheon. It made it more meaningful and impactful.

That's not how Divine Reflection works. It only allows him to copy and counter a move once within a short period after seeing it. Then once it's used or the time limit has passed he can't use it again. That's why he didn't use The Fist That Surpassed Time multiple times even though Zeus can't avoid or defend against it. The only work around for this is if he experiences the exact same move constantly, such as True God's Left/Right. He could use True God's Left/Right multiple times after going blind thanks to how much he was exposed to it but if he had survived would lost them once enough time passed.

Adamas compresses all of Zeus muscles and power into a smaller form massively increasing his defense and power. The Fist That Surpassed Time is faster than True God's Right and Left. However, True God's Right and Left are much stronger. This is because True God's Right and Left use all of Zeus's divine strength compressed into a smaller form. I suggest you re-read the manga as the manga very clearly states the punches being used in Adamas aren't The Fist That Surpassed Time but are in fact a slower but stronger True God's Right and Left.

He did kill the entire Olympian pantheon by himself and even Gaia & Kronos in his dimension, just having Kratos in the human team is a guaranteed win for any match against a Greek deity.

But in terms of matchup Adam wouldve blasted Shiva in the story so Zeus had to take the fight to prevent even 1 human victory

Out of all the matches, this one deserved to have better animation. The manga adaptation has this fight on par with the All Might vs Nomu fight from the first season of MHA. Was hoping for the same love and care for this.
I will say this till the end of time, but Adam should’ve won. That whole bit with Zeus’ neck going a full 180 and surviving was his plot armor kicking in. Rest in peace you absolute legend, and watch with pride.

Remember the whole point of Adam's death is to show us that a father would die for his children no matter the challenge. The lost was terrible but this humble probably all the gods that humans with limited time to live would sacrifice themselves for their children.

The other gods can be killed in ways that make you go “oh yeah that would have killed a human, makes sense to me.” But Zues takes a fat L with the neck snap and we just have to go “oh never mind Zues can decide to not be dead” from my point of view it would have been better if Zues loss or tied because it would have followed the plot of the story showing all gods could be killed- I’d be ok with a tie to say the strongest of them took our strongest and all we could do in that situation was tie. And honestly Adam had an actual power, a true real ability and not just something that insanely crazy for a human, he could perceive down to length of time that were impossible, register what that meant and then act on it all in the same amount of time, he was the flash essentially, as well as being able to throw an enemy’s own move back at them with all the force that was required to be behind it. And it ended up being a loss, Adam was untouchable apparently, but Zues could not be killed The general consensus is: in a fight with anyone else Adam wins. Hands down. But with how Zues just decided to not lose it sorta makes the rest of the fights seem kinda pointless like what’s stopping another god from just being strong enough to not die? And if they all have that ability then why even fight? If you read into it too heavy it could drag your enjoyment down. If you don’t read into it it’s just story building that Zues won. Admittedly I am ok with an L to Zues- I just don’t think it should have played out to look like adam had won at one point- that kind of stuff always makes me groan. A villain suddenly not losing because “muwahahaha” is shitty writing. We can argue Zues as the head honcho of course he’s got some perks, but then that means humanity came into this fight -1 because Zues can’t be killed. And maybe even at a larger disadvantage because who’s to say the other heads of pantheons can be killed, this whole setup could theoretically be humanity walked into this fight starting off at -3( or however many religious ideals were showing up in the anime)

Adam could beat most of the gods but there are certain powers that Adam's Divine Reflection can't beat. Zeus was the absolute strongest of all the gods there is only 1 person on humanities side that could possibly defeat Zeus and it isn't Adam.
So, Adam's existence implies that the Christian god exists, yet the whole show kind of ignores it. Interesting that they kept him out of the show, although given that we can't even speculate how he might look its probably a good idea.

I really thought about this for a few months and I think it would have been better for the story if Adam tied with Zeus and they both died.

honestly Zues winning was bullshit. The other gods can be killed in ways that make you go “oh yeah that would have killed a human, makes sense to me.” But Zues takes a fat L with the neck snap and we just have to go “oh never mind Zues can decide to not be dead” from my point of view it would have been better if Zues loss or tied because it would have followed the plot of the story showing all gods could be killed- I’d be ok with a tie to say the strongest of them took our strongest and all we could do in that situation was tie. And honestly Adam had an actual power, a true real ability and not just something that insanely crazy for a human, he could perceive down to length of time that were impossible, register what that meant and then act on it all in the same amount of time, he was the flash essentially, as well as being able to throw an enemy’s own move back at them with all the force that was required to be behind it. And it ended up being a loss, Adam was untouchable apparently, but Zues could not be killed
The general consensus is: in a fight with anyone else Adam wins. Hands down.
But with how Zues just decided to not lose it sorta makes the rest of the fights seem kinda pointless like what’s stopping another god from just being strong enough to not die? And if they all have that ability then why even fight? If you read into it too heavy it could drag your enjoyment down. If you don’t read into it it’s just story building that Zues won.
Admittedly I am ok with an L to Zues- I just don’t think it should have played out to look like adam had won at one point- that kind of stuff always makes me groan. A villain suddenly not losing because “muwahahaha” is shitty writing. We can argue Zues as the head honcho of course he’s got some perks, but then that means humanity came into this fight -1 because Zues can’t be killed. And maybe even at a larger disadvantage because who’s to say the other heads of pantheons can be killed, this whole setup could theoretically be humanity walked into this fight starting off at -3( or however many religious ideals were showing up in the anime)
@@Atomsk2 Zeus could be killed though. He ran out of "Muwahaha" with that last punch, if Adam had snapped his neck again after he gassed out, it would have been a permanent L for the ol' Z man. Technically, plot armor kept him from running out of power until just after Adam died (which you can honestly characterize as bullshit), but the understanding should be that if the First Man had survived a bit longer, he would indeed have killed the King of the Gods.
@@Atomsk2 This is a bit of a spoiler but I'll say this there are 3 people outside of Zeus that have been shown so far that could beat Adam. Adam could beat most of the gods but there are certain powers that Adam's Divine Reflection can't beat. Zeus was the absolute strongest of all the gods there is only 1 person on humanities side that could possibly defeat Zeus and it isn't Adam.
