I just got my license, and for me, the hardest part was finding a good driving instructor. What are you struggling (or struggled) with the most?

I have fourth attempt in July. The main problem I face is that I donot look far away, therefore missing boards and too late to react to situations. Further smoothness in the speed (going with the traffic) is bit problematic.

Congrats! I still remember my first trip after getting my license. I had to pick up my car at the HQ of the company I worked for, and drive some 120 km to get back home. Had all the time in the world to get used to the car once I was on the highway.

Hi congrats for your license! I am always feel excitement when a 'buitenlander' get their license in NL; another survival kit unlocked 😅 I am preparing for my 3rd exam next month. 🤞
The most difficult part in learning to drive is to "embody" my knowledge in theory into the way I respond behind the steering wheel. 😅 Takes a lot if time to practice, unlearn, and learn again.

Thanks for the interview with your instructor and congratulations for getting your driving licence! I've got and confirmed a few important moments that I thought may be a problem in the process of getting my driving licence here in the Netherlands. The car, you should feel comfortable not like me, don't reach the pedals (even after adjusting the seat) and the instructor didn't say anything about that I have to try at least a pillow. The fact that you come from another country and you are not used to the Dutch rules and situations that may occur in traffic. The habits you've got if you have another driving licence, even if you didn't drive after getting it in your country. And of course the instructor (I underestimated this moment when I decided to change the school). If you find a good one don't make a mistake like me to let him/ her go just because of customer service.

Thank you for watching 🙂 I absolutely agree. In my experience, an instructor is much more important than a school. If I were to do it again, I'd be choosing an instructor not necessarily a school.

I really liked the talk with Mike, he seems like such a nice man. If possible, for the next video I would like to know how many hours does he thinks it takes for immigrants that already have a foreign driving licenses to adjust to the "right" way of driving in here, like he mentioned 40-50 hours for people that had never driven before, would it be half of it or even less?
