I havenât enjoyed an arcade game like this since I was a child. Thank you for making me a big ass kid this past week.
Whoever came up with the idea of scrappin with Shredder to a rap beat deserves a gold star. Totally matches the urban street vibe the series always had.

Don't think anyone playing this for the first time ever expected a rap track for Shredder's fight.
I'm one of them, and I wasn't disappointed.
I played this on drop. Was fucking thrilled as Wu-Tang was huge when I played most of the arcade/ Nintendo titles. Iâm an old man now and appreciated both at the time. To see them literally in the same retro style game was a dream come true.
I feel this song rightly demonstrates that Shredderâs threats are seen a challenge to the heroes, and every character has accepted that challenge.
Leonardo is proving why he leads the Turtles.
Michelangelo is showing that for all his joking, heâs still a master ninja.
Raphael has the chance to let off some steam on a big source of frustration.
Donatello is using such a simple weapon and his brains to take down the big guy.
April is making it clear she will no longer be the damsel in distress sheâs been so many times.
Splinter is settling the score with the old rival that made him an outcast.
And where others may see Shredder as a supervillain, all Casey Jones sees is another criminal that needs to be put in his place.
And none of them came to lose.
You thought about this too deep and in the wrong direction. I also dont think you listened to the lyrics at all no offense. Its literally about shredder coming to annhilate the turtles and trash talking them not the other way around. This is 100% a shredder amp up song.

I love how the song starts menacing and cruel-sounding with Ghostface Killah's verse being from Shredder's POV, but then at the halfway point it becomes more hopeful and determined with Raekwon's verse from the turtle's POV.

Somehow i was kinda expecting shredder to pop out after krang. Considering it has happened in the past (namely tmnt the arcade game where you face shredder after defeating krang).

About a week before this game dropped I was telling my son who is eight and just had a birthday, about my eighth birthday. My father took me and three of my friends to a go cart track that had a big arcade inside. As soon as we spotted the TMNT arcade we ditched the go carts and my dad began feeding us all quarters for the machine. I have no idea how much my dad had to spend that day on the four of us but he went back and forth to the change machine, drank beer, and rooted us on for more than a few hours that afternoon. If I had to guess I would say it took at least a Hundo for us to finally defeat Shredder. I couldnât have been happier. All my son talked about was him and I beating this game when it came out. I got it the day it came out and he and I sat and played all the through in a couple hours. Thank god it didnât cost me what it cost my father to see the final credits. The nostalgia in general topped with the fact I was playing through this game with my son and remembering how exciting it was for me at his age, it just felt good. And just when I thought it couldnât get any better we make it to Shredder and suddenly I hear Ghost spittinâ about âpizza pizzaâ and my son immediately recognizes as well because I mean he hasnât really had any choice in what music heâs taken in thus far in his life. He says âThis is Wu-Tang right dad? Youâre right they really are the best!â I didnât expect this track to drop, I didnât expect my son to recognize as fast as I myself did, and because it was on this game my son has found a respect for these artists that I love. A respect that otherwise may have taken him years to gain on his own if ever. He very likely couldâve chalked it up to some âold head shitâ or something. You know how kids are. But Ghost and Rae killed it. Theyâve earned a new fan without a doubt. And boy when I heard that shit come in while fighting Shredder I was sent. Somewhere like 92â or 93â. It felt great. Sounded better. The only problem I had was I needed more. I couldâve stomped foot clan ass with my son and listened to Ghost and Chef for the entire soundtrack. Whoever made this happen. . . PAY THAT MAN! GENIUS GENIUS GENIUS! RIP Dad. And Ghost youâll always be the greatest as far as Iâm concerned. Wu Tang is for the children! Zoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

That said, there definitely is some real subtle shade being thrown on a competing pizza franchise to Pizza Hut.
@@crimcrusader8459 Augh its so good. Little Caesars is notoriously known as the cheapest pizza you can get in the country. And Julius Caesar was stabbed like 50 times, to which I can safely assume Shredder shares similar intentions. And, when you factor in the knowledge that TMNT was always backed by Pizza Hut, there's a power-contrast where you can really just immediately feel the way this metaphor dwarves our heroes.
But this song just goes SO hard, all you can do is just get even more hyped up.

Anyway, I note also that the line that follows after that Little Caesar phrase even subtly mocks their old advertising slogan: "All you stuff your face with is pizza, pizza"

The last thing I was expecting from the Shredder fight was a rap diss track to the turtles. I wish he got some more lines with his verse, but this theme always makes the encounter with Shredder a treat. Definitely the toughest boss in the game, imo.

My first playthrough was with Splinter, and when I reached Shredder, I already liked how personal this felt. But as soon as the bars hit, that just made the moment more hype. Gave me 3rd Strike vibes and more. Even the intro sounded like a classic Wu sample!

When I was playing, Shredder suddenly appears and starts playing this song. All the people here at home came to the TV to watch the epic battle and enjoy the awesome music.

First time fighting this guy with a full lobby. We started with 3 people we all just randoms, ends with a full lobby. It was awesome. The theme hit hard when one man almost beat 6 people.
