  • "Hero" is a song by Enrique Iglesias from his 2001 album "Escape," co-written with Paul Barry and Mark Taylor. Released on 31 August 2001 by Interscope Records, the song received both critical acclaim and commercial success, selling over 8 million copies worldwide and becoming one of the all-time best-selling singles. Following the 9/11 attacks, "Hero" gained additional significance in New York City, where it was remixed with audio from emergency responders and politicians to reflect the tragedy. Iglesias performed "Hero" at various significant events, including America: A Tribute to Heroes. The song also saw adaptations in popular culture, notably in the TV series "Glee" as a mashup with Gipsy Kings' "Bamboléo," and was covered in Italian by Micheal Castaldo.
