    Try using dawn dish soap to remove the blood stains. I swear, it’s the best stain remover that exists. I put a couple tablespoons full of the dish soap (about 1/10 of the bottle you put it in) in a spray bottle, then fill up the rest with water. Shake it well, then you have a bottle for your laundry room. FYI, I have tried every stain remover known to man.

      I have a bottle of the power wash in the laundry room. It does a fantastic job with those blood stain moments.

      I was going to recommend Dawn or other concentrated dish soap as well. It’s trusted to clean and disinfect raw meat residue from cutting boards, for example. Add a bit of boiling water on those spots for extra sanitizing then throw it in the wash (in a mesh bag for some protection for the rest of the piece).
      Bleach would wreck it. I accidentally put bleach on cream silk and it turned it orange in spots. Whole different chemical reaction than other fabrics.

      Hmm, I do love dawn for other stains! (especially old grease stains) I'm just a little concerned about sanitizing potential pathogens the blood might carry. I'm honestly considering just sending it to a dry cleaner at this point 😂
      But that is a great tip with the spray bottle, very handy. Thank you!

      Hydrogen peroxide will lift the blood out of material. And also kill the germs.

      @@RebeccaWoodsChannel Sure! Becomes like a game: guess the fabric, check the label. When you get good, you can skim the rack just by eyeing/touching the top of the hangers. For most items of clothing, natural fibres (or a good blend) just hang and feel better, and stay looking new longer.

    Rebecca With the blood stain I would do baking soda and a little vinegar on it and let it bubble then, let it sit, rinse it off with cold water, put Dawn soap on the stain let it soak in cold water. If the stain doesn’t come out the first time do the process all over again. You do not know how long that blood has been on the garment. Thank you for your videos.

    Hydrogen peroxide takes blood stains out, I usually just put it directly and generously on the stain and then dab a dry cloth or paper or something to absorb the stain, I continue that until the stain is out. Salt water can also helps get rid of bloodstains

    If it's blood, use oxy clean stain remover on it (liquid in a spray bottle). It will immediately turn white if it is blood and usually it gets it right out. Let it sit for a few minutes before throwing it in the wash.

    • @patricia5686
      @patricia5686 Před rokem +1

      Another tip for fresh blood is to use dropper full of hydrogen peroxide on the stain and rinse with water. Works immediately!

  • @quirkycottageshenanigans9003

    Hydrogen peroxide on blood stains. Will sanitize it, too.
    Can add baking soda, dawn dishwashing liquid can also be added. Use an old tooth brush to gently get out stain from the inside of robe. Wash in linen bag in the washer. Hang to air dry. May need to repeat.
    Also there is amodex stain remover that gets out alot of tough stains in general.

    Always wash your garments before trying on at home. If I try on at the store it's always over my clothes and as soon as I get home they go in the wash.

    I would try the dish soap someone suggested to get the stain out. There is some Lysol sanitizer for the washer.

    If you are worried about sanitizing the garment, white vinegar will do the job. The stain is another matter. I would not use peroxide. I ruined a rug that way.

    • @RebeccaWoodsChannel
      @RebeccaWoodsChannel  Před rokem

    Where was the store that u went thrifting? Plz could u also include how much you got each item for? Im from the UK and the thrifting shops are not too good. Loved the kate Spade bag. How much did u buy it for? Regarding the blood, just wash it . No big deal . Dont bleach u will ruin. Plz could u also say how much u got the tote for

    Oxyclean the blood spot! It contains live enzymes that will chemically remove it and sanitize it. It should turn white and foam when you put it on which is how you know it was definitely blood and that its working.
