I have a Nikon coolpix 8400 which I purchased new about 19 years ago here in the U.S. I still have the original box and everything that came with it including the remote control. Your video helped me remember all that I had forgotten about its operation without referring to the original owner's manual.
Thank you for an excellent refresher!
I'm glad it was useful to you. Do you plan to use it soon?
@@PhotoWays Yes, I took it out of my closet, charged the batteries, and used it three days this week. It still takes great photos and even takes short videos.
I bought this camera new in late 2006; I think I paid US$450 for it. In 2008 I found accessories for it on Amazon dirt cheap - the accessory grip (MB-CP10) was US$15 and the dedicated lens hood was US$7.50. 6 AA batteries last much longer than the lithium.
getting that grip was very worthwhile.
Looks compact - "tote able" ... but the weird battery ... sad, very sad.
I am shaky so I do better with a bit more to hold ... so I went for a D70 for a small file shooter.
Well done lad, thank you.
Fair enough!
Thanks for the great video like always 👍
Glad you enjoyed it. :)
How do you disable the flash on the camera?
Flash mode 2. Cancel flash
I Might get this camera but would need to figure out a battery solution. Batteries are $100+, charger is $150, 6 aa battery converter is $550.... No way in hell anyone in their right mind would pay those prices when better cameras are available for a lot cheaper. I'm thinking maybe I could measure the battery compartment opening and make my own 6 aa converter.
Good luck with making a converter. Let me know how it goes. You're right about the price of the battery. They are hugely expensive .
I would try the power AC (EH-5 AC adaptor is used on the D70) port first.
But why?
Small file cameras are affordable that are less of an oddball.
In 2008 I found the MB-CP10 grip on Amazon for only $15 - 6 AA batteries last much longer than the lithium. Definitely worth grabbing if you ever come across one. I'm sure they're out there in someone's old camera bag but people don't know anybody would buy it.
