I guess you can't post images here, so I'll just explain the measurements. The template is 2.5" (6.35cm) wide and 4.5" (11.43cm) tall. The cutout in the center is 1.2" (1.27cm) wide, which makes each leg of the template 1" (2.54cm) wide. You can cut the center part pretty much any way that is easy for you to sew through. The important sizes are the width and height of the template. :) Hope that helps.

I cut my 7/8" ribbons to 18". So sorry I missed your comment! Let me know if you need the measurements for the template too. :)
