- Nora keeps her life hidden. She conceals her Christmas tree, debts, macarons, and insecurities. Her hide-and-seek includes the audience as well. Act 1 begins by portraying her as an insensitive and manipulative housewife. However, as the act progresses, Nora starts asking important questions about her rights. The audience can't help but wonder how much more she will reveal about herself as the story unfolds.
