  • Today, had Char Kuey Teow Big Special and that was super SEDAPPP!!!
    I thought it was too much but it was not...LOL

    안녕하세요 Jesse. 🙂 There are 2 types of char kuey teow in Malaysia. The one you had is the malay style - a bit of a wet style. you should also try the Chinese style. it's totally different.. it's drier and it has the "wok" flavor.. there's one small stall is Restoran Four Eight at Damansara Perdana that's quite nice.. 🙂

      The Chinese version of wet char kuay teow is called Cantonese yin Yong. The dry very version is called char kuay teow

    Char kuey teow taste more delicious when eaten immediately straight after cooking because the gravy still there..before covid, they provide table for cust to eat there..i used to go there when i was a student in UM

    I always asked for extra pickle chilies and pour it on top of the noodles. it's better that way cause the pickle juice soak in together with the noodle broth cause this one is a wet version. that vinegar taste combine all together is simply amazing

    The char kuey teow was really good when I taste it for the first time. The stall is very famous among University Malaya student also 😅. I quite shocked when knowing that the price is still the same, Rm5 only (during my studies). Such a memorable place for me. Thank you for bringing back the memory of char kuey teow 🙏. Hahaha 😂

    The correct spelling for rice noodle is kuetiau in Malay language. Malay version is wet, while Chinese version is dry.

    Kueh tiaw is a flat rice noodle, mee is the yellow noodle, mee hoon is the vermicelli noodle ( the fine noodle ).

    That cili is actually 'jeruk cili' @ pickled chili. Compliment well with any type of fried noodle or kueytiau or bihun (vermicelli noodle). Glad u enjoy them well ~

    Mee/mi - yellow noodle
    Beehoon/bihun - thin vercimelli noodle
    Kway teow - flat rice noodle
    Etc.

    There are 2 types of char kuey tiaw. This one is Malay version. If you buy char kuey tiaw at chinese stall, it will be dry fried kuey tiaw. it's not wet like Malay version

      kuey tiow is a chinese food and char literally means goreng in chinese. the malay ones shouldn’t be called char kuey teow (like how is it char when it’s wet lol) but instead kuey teow basah

    Jom Jesse… lets go JJCM around Malaysia… last time before the last lockdown, me and my friend drive to ipoh on one day trip just to go have food.. by 6pm we have food coma. We went there at 7am.. reached back KL around 10-11 like that.. then we went penang.. just to eat…. We were thinking going to Melaka and Cameron.. but MCO happen .. we postpone it.. suppose to go Sekinchan this tuesday but my friend abandon me to go chilling at the waterfall in KKB..

    This is Malay version Char Kuey Teow more to gravy type chinese version are totally different is dry type you must try original chinese version to.
