Not bad at all man well done, there are some interesting high notes he plays on the E string in the beginning that I didn't see you touch on but overall great video.
I've obviously got to work on my thumb bass line picking but I've been playing his songs more than anything in the last 3 years... extremely addicting music haha.
Thanks again man and if you have any tips on thumb bass line working into different melodies I would be stoked on learning more... It seems like this just comes natural to you or maybe I have just spent years in a box building closed habits hahaha

Yooo do you think you could try once in awhile by shakey graves?? I love his live performances too.
Also quick question, when your doing the percussive slaps at 11:06 are you strumming and then palm muting or just slapping guitar?
I’ve heard this type of playing in a lot of his live performances and can’t seem to replicate it properly

Haven’t learned that one, I’ll give it a listen and see what I can do.
As for the slapping, essentially it’s just slapping your hand into the palm mute position. I am muting those bass notes throughout the song.
One possibly useful tip is that you only need to mute as you are hitting the string, after that your hand can rise off the strings. This also lets the string ring out a bit more than it would if you just left your hand there.
Try to hit the strings with your fingernails too, this will give you a more percussive sound!

Anyone feel like the tuning here is wrong? Needs to beDown half a step or so?

That certainly could be the case, standard is just a reference.
