    Hi,
Stu and KC love the channel and your work and family ethics. I'm a builder in Rhode Island and can appreciate KC's work pants as I started out as a painter. Had many pairs of jeans that could stand up on their own from all the caulking, glazing and paint on them. The good news was they not only worked as cheap advertising but also were water proof. Never layed many brick but a lot of 16" concrete block am learning a ton from you both.Cheers as my family came to America from England with surname of Tunnicliff wondered if you have ever heard of this name.Hope to visit someday and maybe attend your bricky school while there. Keep up the great videos love your taste in music also.

The lintel didn’t bridge the cavity and there was none in before, there wasn’t even a lintel in before, also these brick are Accrington and no water penetrates into cavity

Been watching a number of your videos Stu and I have to ask - how do you mix your mortar/what proportions? Yours looks as pliable as play-doh! Do you have a lot of lime in there or just a lot more cement compared to sand? You don't even level and square until the second course! I am a DIY beginner and the mortar here in the States says 1 part mortar mix (premixed lime & cement) to 2.5-3 parts masonry sand... Well then it is all about how thin or thick you want it. Too thin makes a mess and too thick doubles or triples the time to set a brick level and pumb!

I remember when I left the UK back in 2000. The average house price in Kent was about 70,000 pounds. Now you won't get anything for less than 400,000 pounds. How on earth do people afford to live there now? Don't even get me started on the price of petrol there.
