    Schwantz had an habit of looking back to see who is on his tail at 200 kmph!!! Legendary!

    I crashed out out of T12 at the Island. 5th gear highside. Broke my back in 3 places, left shoulder, right wrist and both ankles. It was the best fun I ever had.

      LoL , I am joking!
      It is just having fun about what each one thinks is the golden era, against those newer "punks".

      I think it was something like 105,000. We were there, and it took us 5 hours to get off the island the traffic was that heavy. They’ve improved it out of sight since then, they learned a lot from that first GP.

      @jjmoto65 Před 4 lety

      @@dmandhelen did you read the cause of his crash. He even stated he was pushed by MM up into a "dirty" part of the track. The dirt on the track caused it because slicks don't like dirt. Not by throttle control and power delivery

    • @dmandhelen
      @dmandhelen Před 4 lety +1

      jj moto no I didn’t... 🤔🤔🤔but it looked like throttle to me ??? I would have thought it would have lowsided if the track had been dirty .. ?? Also vinales crash looked like throttle too ?? I know what you mean though .. I wasn’t disagreeing with you really as I did think that they had TC .. but I still think that even with all the technology, they do still need huge amounts of skill and nerve to ride at the limit .. 300ish HP 170ish KG... even with full set of electronics is still a massively dangerous animal😱😱😱😱😁😁😁😁👍👍👍

    1989 should have been Schwantz's year. Stupid mistakes like that cost him dearly. Lawson and Kanamoto put in their best ever performances that year to turn the Honda into a championship winner. The work they started turned the NSR into the most dominant GP racer of the 1990's.

    • @rogerw3818
      @rogerw3818 Před 3 lety

      @@CP-kb1du Suzuki had closed the power gap while maintaining their handling advantage. Honda still had the power in the class, but was the worst handling, Yamaha being the best all around bike and Cagiva being... Cagiva. You are spot on with the lack of a calming influence in the Suzuki camp. While his parents traveled with him, there was no strong mentor figure there.
