Believe me or not, I "discovered" "The revealing science of god" with this version. I was amazed.
Can well believe it - I'm hearing things here that I've never heard before in terms of sheer performance. This is possibly my new go to for a live Yes performance.

One of the best Yes performances ever. The version of Siberian Khatru has to be the most wonderful ever, and takes me to another dimension where reality does not intrude.

Same goes to Starship Trooper, whole universe better than album version.

I'm a guitarist, too. But what he's doing is lightyears ahead.
Not only playing all these strange, extraordinary melodic lines and rhythm patterns but to have the idea of them before is what I'm always impressed about.

You got it right. His melodies are so imaginative, just as bass lines of Squire. But the whole Yes guys were genius. I like a lot Rabin too in a different way, he fits well for powerful melodies in big arenas and over the top solo. My feeling is that both worlds were not incompatible, Union tour is the proof of it, it was a huge success and fans like me would have paid a lot for a reunion tour again with the classic songs of the 70s combined with the best songs from 80s, union and Talk albums because there were gtop moments like miracle of life, shock to the system, talk..
I am not a guitar expert but steve should be in the top 10 afaiac . Rolling stone(?)

whoever did the editing and special effects on this need to be sentenced to life imprisonment. One can only sit in awe when watching Steve Howe, that guy has a totally unique style, and only Howe can play Howe.

Was a fan from the mid 70's and only came to see them the first time in 1998 , and later about 9 times more . Glad I saw them 3 times in this configuration with Rick. I have all their signatures in a book and pictures taken with them.

Watching this reminds of the phrase on the shoulders of giants: these musicians, esp Steve and Rick have shaped my musical experience in ways that keep barinf fruit, new joys, new hopes and old hope too. I once saw Steve play a solo gig in Reading, I think, I was in the front row with my wife, I was in awe, tears in my eyes to see my musical life friend before me, no words can capture the joy that Yes have brought me over the years, it's simply too deep an experience to convey in words. Waffle,waffle, sparkly eyes, sunshine too bright to see, fast running water cold to the touch that takes your breath away, seeing the rings of Saturn with your own eyes (like I have anyone else's eyes), crunchy toast and long mountain walks, the Grand Canyon sunset, whales that have funny eyes, cat's fur and hot chips.

Listened to this from their 2 double CD set recently, discs, that were buried amongst others that have also been unplayed , and was really impressed by their overall sound quality. Must of been great for the audience.
Believable.... All absolutely totally Believable. Yeh... after over 50 years of a lot of listening and performing i think they could well be the greatest ever at least in the realm of Prog-Rock, and Classic rock generally. God Bless All!!!

Keys to Ascension is a video album by English progressive rock band Yes, released in October 1996 by CMC International. It featured the group's performances at the Fremont Theatre in San Luis Obispo, California in March 1996, following the return of guitarist Steve Howe and keyboardist Rick Wakeman in 1995, which marked the first performances of the band's "classic" line-up since 1979. The three concerts with the newly reunited lineup were followed by two double albums entitled Keys to Ascension and Keys to Ascension 2, featuring all new material alongside live tracks from the San Luis Obispo shows. This along with these companion albums were reissued in 2010 as the Keys to Ascension box set.
Howe oversaw the mixing of the audio for the video. According to him, there are some sections where the audio does not entirely match what is being played on screen since the band recorded all three of its shows the Fremont, but only the last night was filmed, and during the mixing they sometimes dubbed in audio from an earlier show if it was played better than the last one. He blamed this in part on the budget for filming being only $6,000, far less than what might normally have been spent to produce a quality video.[1]
A world tour was abruptly cancelled when Wakeman quit the band in mid-1997. He rejoined the band in 2002.
This is one of the greatest ever Yes live shows - second only to YesSongs in my view. Very good audio production as well if you get the CD (unlike the muddy Yes Songs audio)

No songs from Relayer because Wakeman refused to play them, having left the group back when the album was being made and replaced by Patrick Moraz who did a wonderful job......now having watched the whole concert, they did a magnificent job, all players had a good ear that night.
