I have a 1960s DB tractor with a mold board plow, a snowplow, a cordwood saw, garden seeder, disk, spike harrow, cultivator, and sickle-bar mower. It's important to have videos like yours to help show how everything is used and set up.

Sounds like you have every thing you need to work a garden of even small truck farm, plus you can take the DB to a tractor show and ride around with on a cart,

I have a complete David Bradley cultivator & breaking plow. I have one DB '46 model tractor with an original Briggs engine and I have a parts machine. Im in the process of re-painting.

You always have good info. The tractors with solid hubs and reverse are a pleasure to work with. Harder to find though.

I started by removing the muffler cover and routing the exhaust down under the tractor.
The air filter is a tin can bottom with a foam rubber filter.
The throttle bracket on the motor took the most time to make it work right
Pause the picture at the motor showing the throttle bracket and see if that can help you with your project.

great video. how did you mod the HF 3hp so the hood closes? Also were you able to set up a throttle cable to the handlebars? I am trying to figure those two things out right now thank you!

all good points. You are right about the driving because when they do come up for sale they always seem 4 hours away. then when your not looking and don't have time or extra money one comes up
only 1 hour away i think if I took away any thing from the video its I should quit trying to use those tiny little engines the come original. I "didn't know", the hood would shut using a harbor freight 3 hp

Thank you, I don't work this equipment like I use to , but I still enjoy playing with these old toys.
I bought the Troy built new in 1978 , 5 sets of tines and one ring job, and the David Bradley used in 1992, I have used and had a lot of fun with them.

I have 6 tractors in all and none with reverse, I have to drag it backward ,the old tractor in the video is a 1956 model 100.

What intake filter did you put on the Harbor Freight engine?

    • @billywatson8931
      @billywatson8931  Před 8 měsíci +1

I used a tin can filled with a foam filter cut to fit , A 3" pvc flat cap might work better .
I drilled holes to fit the carb and cut the can to about 1" then glued in the filter

Your Continental engine. Does it have the round cap for the governor? I’m looking at one today that has a rectangular shaped cap.

I am going through the same thing, trying to find reverse parts, I am working on a tractor that has all the reverse parts missing .

@@billywatson8931 I now have 2 DB's that are torn down to the transmissions. The part of Texas I live in has shown me three since January. I have hope but it will be slow finding parts and implements I know. You big collectors are an inspiration. TY

@@outtatime4512 If you have the gear box apart, then drive the wheel seals out from the inside, replace them with two 1/4" thick seals on each side, the original seals are not available

When you get your tractor running, take it to as many shows and events as you can, people will walk up to you and
say some thing like, I have one of those tractors out behind the barn, and you might be able to aquae it
I picked up two of my tractors this way .
