    Thanks for the video. How long did you have to wait for your car to be unloaded?

    • @TranscontinentalRailfan
      @TranscontinentalRailfan  Před 2 lety

      It takes about an hour and a half for all of the vehicles to be unloaded. I remember my family’s vehicle was unloaded less than a hour after getting off the train. Incase you didn’t know, passengers can pay extra $50 to have priority unloading, so that their vehicle is one of the first ones to be unloaded.

      @@TranscontinentalRailfanAn hour and a half seems pretty fast. I guess we'll take our chances and save the $50 (we're starting our trip north bound). Thanks

    • @TranscontinentalRailfan
      @TranscontinentalRailfan  Před 3 lety

      I believe it’s $208 for regular vehicles and $148 for motorcycles.

      I see. Pickup trucks maybe considered special vehicles and those need to be checked in by 2pm, just so you are aware.

      @@happyhippie2837 You wouldnt classify as a regular vehicle so price will be alot higher for you. I have a mid side SUV round trip price for me was roughly $400

    So, this is just a week ago, yet nobody was wearing masks! Has Amtrak lifted restrictions?

    • @TranscontinentalRailfan
      @TranscontinentalRailfan  Před 3 lety +1

      Amtrak has not lifted restrictions yet. Amtrak allows people to take off masks while actively eating at the diner, cafe/lounge cars or in private rooms in the sleeper cars.

      @@TranscontinentalRailfan I asked because I saw folks eating w/o masks in the dining car, on real plates!

    • @TranscontinentalRailfan
      @TranscontinentalRailfan  Před 3 lety +1

      I understand. Sleeper car passengers can eat dinner in their rooms or dining car. The next day, passengers can pickup breakfast and eat at their rooms or eat it in the dining car.

      @@TranscontinentalRailfan What about the lounge car/ observation car? Can you take off your mask there?

    • @TranscontinentalRailfan
      @TranscontinentalRailfan  Před 3 lety +1

      You can’t take your mask off at the lounge car/observation car, unless you’re actively eating.
