- As I look back in these, the waning days of my career as a reseller of men's clothing, sitting in this old rocking chair and smoking a pipe, watching you all play out in the yard, I cannot help but fondly recall all the great times I had with 22 specific brands. These were selected because they're findable (for me, in California, and compared to potentially more valuable but rarer brands), in high demand, and yield good profit margins.

if you’re ever looking for content ideas I’d love to listen to you go through the men’s manifesto and ramble on about each brand for a few minutes. There’s always going to be little things you say that don’t seem important enough to make the actual manifesto but all those little bits of knowledge help to fill out our rolodex of brands by proxy.
Your content is great. Straight to point, no filler, full of info, and sprinkled with humor.
I recently found a Taylor Stitch linen shirt that flipped almost immediately. Legit info.
Like you I Never understood why people buy brands like lululemon. went into the store at the mall and tried on a pair of pants for fun, now I've been wearing the same lulu pants for like 5 years. they're so nice
As a fly fisher person, I'm always always on the look out for used Simms gear. It's outrageous what the new stuff costs, but the quality is there.
Found my first Ibex shirt the other day. It lasted a whole two hours and 13 minutes after listing it. Hoping to find more some day.

DUDE lemme tell you youre videos make me feel like I have superpowers at the goodwill bins. Everyone's sourcing for the classic single stitch or the eye catching vintage t shirt while im going through the scraps and finding gems! :) Doing a whole ebay store makeover to higher end items and getting rid of all my low value / low sell through at the flea market and the difference is insane! Your a godsend and I can't wait for new videos i check back every day almost lmao
I can confirm what he says about Rhone T-Shirts. I found one in my size at a Goodwill retail that I paid $5 for and contemplated selling but the material is so freaking soft and comfortable. I'm keeping it!
I just started sourcing at the bins since the prices at regular thrift stores have gotten so high in my area. I find so much Men's stuff but, never know what's good or not. See this is why i LOVE youtube and the creators. I watch this video yesterday 4/18/23 and said let me specifically go out and ONLY focus on these items . Now, im a seasoned reseller and i know brands but not much mens. Let me tell you thank you.. one store. I found all new figs with tags, 4 lulu shorts. 1 lulu mens joggers with tag, some swim trunks, a tee shirt, two dress shirts all in all. About 13-14 pieced of the mixed brands he mentioned. I do get lululemon here and their but This time. I took my time and only stayed in men section. Im sooooooo excited for other stores. Thanks

Hi Matt, Thanks for reminding me that I have a pair of Simms wading boots in my death pile. I got them at a church sale for cheap. I have been reluctant to sell them because I'm not sure if they would leak. Thanks for the advice. I'm listing them soon.

Hey Deb, I’m an avid fly fisherman and have 4 pairs of Simms boots and wanted to let you know that wading boots are designed to let water flow through them so don’t worry about leaks. It is the booties attached to the waders that go inside the boot that need to be waterproof. Most folks around here are looking for rubber (Vibram) soled boots. Felt soled boots might be harder to sell as they are banned on some rivers. Good luck!

I found six pair of Kühl jeans last year and sold all of them. Thrift stores must try to sell better clothing online because the brands I find at Goodwill or Savers are overpriced Walmart and Target brands.

I don’t know why but smartwool sits for me. I have 2 pieces with hardly any attention. Same with most men’s lululemon and Rhône tees.
Your thoughts on Rhone after finally wearing it really hit home. "made of magic" can also be said of Vuori. (A brand I was kind of surprised you didn't mention.) Of course I thought it was a bunch of hype and swore I would never pay so much for just a t-shirt or whatever because my brain is good and I'm not a sucker. I ended up buying a Vuori t-shirt because it was on clearance at REI and I liked the color - and then I wore it almost every day for five months of hiking on the PCT. I don't think I can ever go back to any other brand when it comes to long distance athletics, hiking or running. It really is made of magic... like it's woven from the xxxx-hair of mermaids.
Vuori would be on the list except that they've become very unmellow with ebay sellers, sending threatening notes, etc. I do like wearing it.
@@ThriftALife I've heard that but I haven't experienced it myself yet, knock wood - but it also flies off the shelf on Poshmark so no biggie. Yumbo got one of those emails and said he was gonna stop selling it but recently he started selling it again, because he realized they have no power to do anything to anyone where ebay would take action, so there's no real threat. All they do is send bullying letters and if I'm not mistaken it only happens with items marked New With Tags.

Can you please tell me if you photograph items as you buy them then fold them put them away in plastic bags and have them ready to sell? My bedroom is starting to look like a warehouse. I do thrift a lot because of course we all love that but I cannot photograph and do measurements as fast as I buy. Do you have any suggestions or tell me how you manage your inventory. I am feeling new as a clothing thrifter although I've been an antique dealer pretty much all of my life, wish you the best wherever you're going happy to have stumbled on you at this late hour. Linda

Hey man I have 180 listings, 190 sales. I do about 4-10 sells a day. I'm trying to get where I make like 200 in sells a day. I sell mostly whatever clothes make me money from goodwill. Doing pretty good but do you think that's attainable? My store is only 2 months old. My 90 day total is 5632.56. Do you think I'm doing alright?
