- The Polynesian Cultural Center is a cultural theme park located on the north shore of the island of Oahu in Hawaii, USA. It is a popular attraction that celebrates the cultures of Polynesia, including Hawaii, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Tahiti, and Aotearoa (New Zealand).
The park features seven Polynesian villages that showcase the unique traditions, music, dance, and food of each culture. Visitors can participate in a variety of cultural activities such as canoe rides, spear throwing, coconut husking, and fire knife dancing. The park also offers a luau dinner and an evening show called "Ha: Breath of Life," which tells the story of a young man's journey through life and features traditional Polynesian dances, music, and special effects.

Fun fact the PCC is owned by the Mormon church. The people who work there are mostly students from BYU. The Mormons came to Hawaii in 1865 and purchase 6,000 acres including the 43 acres that PCC sits on. It opened in 1963.

I get to visit the Polynesian Cultural Center again, virtually this time, thanks to your extensive coverage! 🤩 1:09:08 The men climbed up the coconut tree so effortlessly, impressive! 🥥 The tree climbing was one of highlights during my visit along with the Huki Canoe and the HĀ: Breath of Life Shows. Polynesian cultures are very interesting, lots of incredible history. I've always been fascinated by the fact that polynesian peoples were sailing the massive deep oceans hundreds and hundreds of years before anyone else was, and the ships they built to accomplish it were much smaller and simpler than the ships the Europeans and East Asians were making so many decades later. Plus they discovered how to navigate the oceans using stars wayyyyyy before anyone else

No, not a bug. It looks like Maori Poi Balls. They’re originally from New Zealand. They are used to develop strength, flexibility, and coordination. Used in the past for weapon training. They are white with blue and red strings attached used for twirling. Children growing up in Hawaii learn to dance and play with them.
