@@RioBlacksugar I don't think structure is the issue. It's just a different sound. But there is something undeniably unique and cool about this era of the project. Noone really makes music like this anymore. Similar, sure. But these demos feel even more valuable and fun to listen to after all these years of diff styles that never touched on the "old sound".
@@SalvationCode I meant more that there has been a definite drop in quality. The lyrics of all the new singles are terrible. The music all sounds the same and changes so much each song that none are very memorable. He just isn't making good music anymore. Which is really sad. He used to be one of the- if not the- best industrial metal musicians. I mean, Listen to Fadeaway or Eon, then Baptized in Fire or Electric Eye. What the hell happened?
@@RioBlacksugar I think the lyrics for the Satellites singles post-EE have been great. BiF is probably the only one I'd rank lower lyrically. A Matter of Time had a really fun vocal style to it and some truly metal lyrics to boot. Sick bridge too.
Speaking of bridges, the one in My Disintegration was genuinely beautiful and I wouldn't mind seeing the idea of that sound expanded in a Scandroid or Offworld-style album.
I'm not sure I understand though... the music sounds the same, but changes too much? Isn't this a contradiction? Unless you're talking about the flow of each song and the tone changing mid-track, but that's always been a thing that happens in Celldweller songs. I haven't found it especially jarring in the new material.
Personally, I think musically and vocally, the quality hasn't downgraded. It's just a sidegrade, a change in style like many times before. Different people will point to different Celldweller albums and say "this is the peak, it went downhill after that". I've seen this said for the Debut, WUAB, EoAE, you name it. Satellites, given enough time, will probably join those albums on that list. They all sound completely different, so they'll all attract people who have completely different opinions on what the "peak" Celldweller era is.
Lyrically, I can see the lack of genuine, immediate inspiration. I think he's capable of writing sick verses that can *sound* cool, but not mean as much or resonate emotionally as much as some of the older work.
That being said, older material has also had songs with weaker lyrics, but other, more lyrically-powerful songs made up for that within the same album. So far, the same holds true for Satellites. Baptized in Fire is weaker, but A Matter of Time has more substance to it, lyrically.

It's a demo from years ago. We might not hear a full version of any of these because this is the start of his writing process. Most of these never made it past the demo stage. If you're a good listener you'll hear samples taken from these old demos in his actual completed projects
Better than most
This is Celldweller at its best. I know Klayton likes to produce a wide variety of music. And I respect that. But this iteration of Celldweller will always be my absolute favourite.
I can feel the old Celldweller vibes with this, I grew up on your music and it means a lot to be honest
