@@eldon9735 not really mechanics wise its pretty much a souped up G36 a weapon that is still used by the bundeswher for 30 years. We have had the m16 since the 60s. If anything they should have adopted the XM8 because its a very simple design compared to the literal clockwork guns that are currently on bid rn remember keep it simple stupid
@@DreadPirateRoberts121 The Krauts are phasing out the G36 as we speak, and the XM8 had a bunch of heat related issues due to the extensive polymer use that were as of trials, unresolved. The optic kind of sucked, and the mounting system was also probably going to go the way of the dodo if the military actually wanted to adopt it. It was modular as fuck and a really nice, slick little rifle but it had too many issues for them to undergo the collossal undertaking and logistical clusterfuck that would've been replacing the m16. Now I'm certain with some tender love and field trials, those issues could've been remediated down the line, but the powers that be decided it wasn't good enough to warrant uprooting our tried and true platform that would only end up getting better with time. Even if we had adopted the XM8, I have a feeling we probably would still be in the market for a new rifle at this point in time due to the fact that pretty much all of our weapons systems are currently considered legacy systems.

So nobody makes the mistake...no, this isn't the "soldier" of the future; it's the *spec ops soldier* of the future.
I do imagine the exo-suit portion specifically would be used for logistics, though...lot of heavy lifting that'd be real easy to do with those things. Artillery, in particular, would use it. In fact, I wonder if they'd even increase the calibers of arty beyond 155mm so arty-men could load the things in without the need of a crane or automated system...

@@brandonreyes2417a regular soldier doesn't require too much information on the situation, if anything it's a distraction from staying alive, wwz makes a great example in the battle of yonkers, soldiers need to focus on what's in front of them, the big picture information is officer territory and should remain as such.
Having a minimap connected to a drone will only distract and confuse you, in fact the whole mask itself is just one massive confusing mess that WILL inevitably reduce performance, it's worth it if it's armored, otherwise don't bother.
They were eventually able to equip everyone with assault rifles.
I'm sure it will be Spec Ops first, but then later on when production tech gets better, it will be included for every soldier.

Actually it's the other way around. First this technology isn't new, only newly declassified. When DARPA for example has a super secret advanced new toy, they leak it into the entertainment industry, movie, TV, Video games and music videos. If anybody tries to blow the whistle on it, they'll be accused of being a poser. And conveniently, 3 or 4, decades later it becomes public.

We laugh and critique but at the end of the day, we will eventually have soldiers with some serious tech on their side. It’s not anywhere near ready yet. But it will come.

The infantry element of warfare has been overtaken long ago with vehicles, aircraft and artillery. Infantry engagements now produce less than 1 twentieth of enemy casualties while PGMs and advanced fire control systems are now far superior to a man and his rifle in terms of precision and firepower. The only areas where infantry make sense now are in urban warfare and as guerillas.
Both environments demand infantrymen that are extremely fit and agile, only lightly equipped (less than 20 kilograms for a 48 hour fighting load) and stealthy.
Weighing down troops with all aspect armour, giving them 7.62 NATO or equivalent muzzle energy rifles, giving them exoskeletons and datalinks and a thousand gadgets does not improve upon the fact that in recent, infantry intensive operations such as Afghanistan and Iraq, Coalition troops were overburdened with over 50kg of kit, too slow to close with the enemy and overdependant upon fast air. If anything, exoskeletons will only make commanders more free to overburden troops even more, while all that gadgetry will not be conducive to stealth or agility. Cue the stories of worn out knees, compressed vertebrae and neck and hip injuries.
If there is going to be a Third World War that does not end in nuclear escalation, the Cold War equipment and mindset of NATO armies is still as relevant and as effective. The infantryman is to close with and destroy opponents within 300 meters, or at least pin them long enough for fire support. Similarly they must be stealthy enough and quick enough to get close enough to engage, and get away from incoming enemy artillery and heavy weapons. Weighing them down with enough kit to rival their body weight is not going to be conducive to either. And there is no amount of armour you can slap on a soldier to protect against 152mm artillery shells or a volley of grenades from an AGS-30, or thermobaric warheads.
But efficacy and doctrine that doesn't justify billion dollar boondoggles and wasteful budgets and procurement programs seems to be light on the ground.
Those batteries are a tricky point.

They're working on bullets that alter their flight and there's scopes that make all the calculations for you and track targets. It makes a cross hair in your sights. You just line up your crosshair with the one it makes. Or at least that's how i understood it...

Not nearly as many augmentations having to sprint and lower their weapon (Bro, Spartan-IIs and IIIs constantly sprint, the speed Madter Chief moved at in Combat evolved, to Halo 3 (Full speed.) was Master Chief Sprinting, that’s why I say Halo Infinite should give us options. If we’re a Spartan 2 make us automatically the same speed as a Sprinting S-4 without sprinting, instead turn the sprint where you lower your gun, into a armor ability like it was in Reach, since it’s more of a speed boost than actual sprint. Leave S-4s the inferior cocky kids they are now.

1. Life cycle cost of 1 US Soldier is about 3 million IF you do not disable him. Then it goes up!
2. Cost to deploy 1 US soldier for 1 yr 550k.
3. Yeah the armor will be high.
But the added: flexibility, survivability, mobility, and fire power. Means you can drop from a 13 to 1 supporter to killer ratio maybe 9 or 10 to 1 with a smaller lighter force.
I lnow it looks like A Halo game, but it is really smart future force planning.

The soldier in the future must not only have better armor suit and better guns but also have better treatment to mental illness like anxiety and ptsd when they are in the militry.That is what i hope it becomes in the future.

WeBe Flexin well if the battery dies and leaks acid all over you while you’re stuck in a suit of power armor you’re fucked, and immobile. Many shots can be survived, especially with armor, and even more so with the armor they would supposedly be able to pack on to this suit since it can handle more weight.
Can it run Crysis? Camouflage like Crysis? High jump like Crysis? Do not cry sis.
