Yay Zero. Happy he's one of the few who doesn't have to counter pick to win. Yeah he used some other characters in the past, or even in local ignition tourneys he'll mess around with other characters, but in recent serious majors he's been keeping it strictly Diddy. Respect.

Harry Marks nothing wrong with counter picking and I miss the lucina, she's way more fun to watch, but it's impressive to not use any counter picks when essentially every top player has at least one matchup they switch for

I like how no one complains about Diddy being broken unless Zero wins a major. Btw Diddy isn't a guaranteed win considering Cloud and Bayonetta are also Top Tier. Smash 4 is much more balanced than any other Smash Game, except for 64.

I'm tired of people saying 64 was balanced. Ness can't even recover, neither can Link. Pikachu has a stupid recovery, loses no matchups, and debatably wins every single matchup in the game. Kirby also is stupid in that game, up tilt for days. Also stupid good recovery. There are only 4 "good" characters in that game, Pikachu, Kirby, Falcon, and Fox, as top and high tiers. The rest of the cast is unviable to solo and get top 8. Smash 4 is more balanced, low tiers like ganon can get 17th at a Japanese major.
Auto Correct That's absolutely ridiculous. The skill ceiling isn't low at all and there's no way to prove that. Tons of people watch and play smash 4 and many channels like Alpharad took off because of the game's popularity and appeal.

It’s just the love of the game combined with his love for Nintendo that allows him to play this game and if people didn’t bully him out of the game than maybe we’d see him as number one and Leo as number 2
God, the salt in the comments. Just accept that ZeRo's an incredibly good and technical player and that by Game 3 he had Tweek almost completely downloaded and hold your L. Diddy's probably the most honest top-tier character and I'd honestly consider him top 3 or better because of the character's potential in his hands.

Dreadfury I agree that salty people need to shut up, but Diddy is not in the slightest an honest character. He has crazy shield pressure and banana is literally Neutral Winner 5000. He may not have the zero to death other characters have and it takes a lot of skill to play him at this level but the way he suffocates characters and can take the stock before it gets too late makes him extremely unfair at times.

Ppl that still say Sm4sh is unbalanced just look at literally every other Smash game. None of them or even close at all to being as balanced as Sm4sh. The roster is way bigger than any of them and a good amount of the cast is viable as opposed to Melee and Brawl.

Randy Chiu In my opinion I don't believe sm4sh is the most balanced game. The competitive scene for every smash game is dominated by S tiers and some A tiers. In Smash 64 Kirby or Pikachu just always win grand finals, in Melee there are 5 viable characters that can win tournaments (Fox, Falco, Marth, Jigglypuff, and Peach), in Brawl meta knight wins 75% of tournaments then the 2nd and 3rd best characters pick up the scraps, in Sm4sh, from what I see only Diddy, ZSS, Cloud, Bayo, Ryu, and Sheik can win tournaments.
Sm4sh's cast is no more viable than games in the past (except for Brawl), unless you define viable as having the ability to get top 8 in tournaments (obviously local tournaments don't count towards viability). I also think you overestimate how "balanced" sm4sh is, half the cast is completely unviable and anything in D tier probably won't ever leave pools. It doesn't help that some D tiers have been completely neglected since launch, I'm a jigglypuff main so I would know

But that being said, even though I respect Zero as a player, I will always be rooting against him as it is just so much more exciting to see another player defeat the Smash 4 champion.

Zero didn't tech anything. When diddy is hit during barrels he isn't put into a techable animation he just carries momentum. So he will slide up the stage, or down depending on where the move sends him, that's the blessing of barrels. The flip side to barrels is when diddy is hit with a move he cannot DI afterwards, which is the curse of barrels.

Here's something I don't think you've heard before. I think Bayo and Diddy are tied for best character in Smash 4. Bayo obviously has some crazy combos with her specials, she has witch time, and bat within. However, she doesn't have the best neutral or many edgeguarding options other than nair. And Diddy is overall a great character in all aspects. Good mobility, neutral, recovery, easy combos, ledge traps, and kill confirms. I'm not hating on zero for using diddy. Mostly cause even he doesn't think Diddy is the best. Also, he does carry Diddy

After watching ZeRo play so many times, I've come to realize he's actually...predictable? Don't get me wrong, he does to plenty of mix-ups but from what I've seen, when he's cornered he does tend to stick to only certain methods. It's pretty hype when his tactics get read and punished. Great set all around.
