Jacques Plante was one hell of a goalie in his day. In the 1955 to 56 season, he played 63 games posting a GAA of 1.86 and save % of .930. That's never been bettered. From 53 to 60 with the Habs, his regular season GAAs were 1.59 (played only 17 games in 1953) , 2.12, 1.86, 2.00, 2.11, 2.16, 2.59. From 68 to 70 with the Blues, he posted 1.96, 2.19. In 70 to 71 with Toronto he posted 1.88. 72 to 73 was his final NHL season with the Bruins posting a GAA of 2.00 in 8 games. In his NHL career of 17 seasons, he never posted below .900 save % and had a GAA slightly over 3.00 in only 3 of the 17 seasons. In the NHL he played 837 regular season games posting a GAA of 2.38 with 62 shut outs and 112 playoff games posting a GAA of 2.12 with 14 shutouts. Damn!

I remember going into Toe's Tavern when I was 16 & didn't go into the back to try n see him...
Went on a tour of the forum the day of the last game there ( saw it vs Dallas) ....sadly on the tour I saw a French dude kinda straggle behind everybody as we walked past the ice....I kinda started straggling behind also & saw him sneakily jump the boards to stand/ be on that hollowed ice. I stupidly didn't do as he did ( aaaargh )....
Oh well at least did the forum tour before they tore it down ( a F-ing crime ).

Why was this edited so bad ?I have the original recording of this and I feel sorry for those that have never seen it in it's entirety . It is at least twice as long as this ...After having said that , it makes me cry .Are you ready Mr Plante ? ... and I burst into tears .My childhood revisited ...my heroes ... I was 10 years all over again ....The organ music on the introductions was so intense that I could not stop crying ...Does anyone have the unedited version of this .\I will try to get my uncut version on this on here ... when you see it in its entirety it is the most beautiful Canadiens thing ever .Thanks for the effort ...but when it is so cut up like this it loses a great deal .
