  • This soap was initially made as a custom order and when it was spotted on the cure rack, I had requests to add it to the shop. Since the first soap, I have made several loaves and thought I would take you along as I do another restock. I also show you how I prep the soaps for the cure rack.
    Thank you for watching!

    I make this same soap for my sensitive clients 🥰
    A tip for stamping; use saran wrap. Line your soaps up, cover them with the saran wrap and stamp away! Peel off the saran wrap, no rubbing alcohol needed and it leaves a smooth stamp impression ❤

      Thanks for the tip. I rarely have issues with stamping but probably would prefer to use alcohol as it is cheaper and less plastic waste.

    Yes, I agree about the beveling...good soaps are a sensory experience and I know that sharp edges puts me off because the first several uses are awkward; beveled edges are not awkward.

      Thank you 🧡 I know the first time I tried handmade soaps, the sharp edges put me off so I was determined to bevel mine

    I have just treated myself to a beveled from the USA as Holly (Kapiera Mera) uses up to now I have used just a plain old peeler. I love the way that Holly soap looks and can’t wait to use mine when it comes.
    I’ve seen similar ones to Leigh’s but made in Scotland but didn’t order due to ridiculous postal charge for a very small item.

      I know exactly which beveller you are talking about as I treated myself. I was very disappointed with it 😔 I showed it in one of the vlogs. I had a horrible sales and delivery experience and then found it messed up the soap as bits stick to it. Hopefully, you have more success with it.

      Simple can be nice. I don't have a lot of demand for thenlm but try to keep a few in the range 🧡

    Love the soap Keeley. I too use the same type of rack system, but sadly here in the ACT, Kmart no longer have this system, which is a pain. the only type you can get is a fixed 4 shelving system and I like you need more shelves for the same height (I currently have 10 shelves on a 1.8m tall rack). Hoping you are coping well with all this crazy weather.💖💖😊😊

      @SoyandShea  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Thank you 🧡 I'll be honest and say I rarely go into kmart these days, and the last time I saw the racks, they were shorter and narrower. It's a pain as I would love a second stand. This weather is definitely crazy.

    Just love your videos, very informative, I admire your thoughtfulness and honesty. I also like simple gentle soaps. I was wondering: what do you do with the shavings? Thank you ❤

    • @SoyandShea
      @SoyandShea  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Thank you 🧡 for the shavings, it depends on the soap. All soaps that use my standed recipe with no additives go into a bucket, and I use them to make confetti soaps. Soaps like this that have extra ingredients, I tend to ball the shavings up, cure it them and then use them at home. This is to keep the ingredients list accurate and simple

    Sometimes simple fragrance free soap is nice and folks seem to be on a more natural lean. That is besides the folks with sensitive skin.
    Cheers & Blessings 👍🤗

      Yes, simple can be nice. I do get more demand for scented soaps but this one has been popular 🧡
