  • In this EMERGENCY conversation, Dale Jr. and Andrew return to the studio to discuss the recent penalties NASCAR handed down after a fight between Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Kyle Busch. They express their opinions on the severity of the penalties and the inconsistency in punishment for similar incidents in the past.
Additionally, they examine NASCAR's role in leveraging the altercation for publicity. Dale Jr. recommends that Stenhouse should consider appealing the fine and suspension, while acknowledging the potential consequences of a successful appeal. They wrap up their conversation by speculating on how the incident may impact the future relationship between Stenhouse and Busch.

    • @CorgiButtOnWheels
      @CorgiButtOnWheels Před 27 dny

Thing is, Kyle DID admit to getting into him intentionally, but he also stated he wasn't trying to wreck him. Stenhouse did what he usually does. Junked himself. He overcorrected *hard* and drove it into the wall. Ricky put himself in that position on lap one pulling a move that was stupid. He may not have touched Kyle going 3 wide, but it would've happened eventually. Watch the incident closely on a replay. Was Kyle's reaction a little much? Absolutely. But comparing it to the Chase v Hamlin right hook isn't even in the same ballpark.
I should note: I've been an HMS lifelong fan since the early 90's when I was little, and I am very much NOT a fan of Denny Hamlin. But what Chase did by right hooking Denny? That was unprofessional, stupid, and low. I was disappointed in one of my favorite drivers, and his suspension was well-earned.
Ricky and his crew played a stupid game, and won a stupid prize. He announced on camera hours before that he intended on retaliating after the race. Had plenty of time for cooler heads to prevail, and he still socked him in the kisser. NASCAR has fined this sort of behavior before. See Crafton vs Sanchez. And Ricky's crew members AND dad jumped Kyle. Dude barely got a chance to defend himself with ol' pops having him in a headlock thinking he was in the WWE! The fine may be a bit steep, but I think it was still well deserved, and nothing Kyle did was worthy of a fine. (But it was still a stupid retaliation.) They both had a right to be upset, though. I'll give them that.
Also: I don't see the issue with NASCAR using it in promotional material. They've always done that with fights. Just seems like a lot of "Fans" are wanting to be upset over nothing, as usual.

The problem is, it was premeditated. Kyle turning Ricky wasn't - that was a heat-of-the-moment thing. Ricky punching Kyle, that was a thought out thing. It was planned. Ricky even told others something was going to happen. THAT is why the punishment was so draconian.
It's kinda like if two guys get into a shoving match in a bar. Guy A shoves guy B, guy B shoves back, guy A falls over. Nothing much happens as a result, "these things happen", the bouncers saw it happen, and eject guy A from the bar because he started it by shoving guy B.
Guy A goes home, broods on it for a couple of hours, then goes back to the bar at closing time, finds guy B, and punches him.
That's Premeditated Assault, possibly even Aggravated Assault. Legally, that is considered much worse than the initial shoving match, precisely because it was thought about and planned in advance.
Ricky made the decision to confront Kyle, and Ricky had made the decision to punch Kyle in advance if Kyle didn't react the way Ricky wanted him to. Had it happened anywhere other than the track, Ricky would be facing a fine and probation at a minimum, and possible jail time at a maximum.
THAT is why the punishment was so large...

Yes he shouldn’t have grabbed him, but look at the fines and suspensions in the past this was outrageous! NASCAR said it was so high because he so many laps had went down and he planned this, well not necessarily, Ricky said if there was a tunnel after he wrecked he would’ve left and finished watching the race from home. And when he did approach Kyle he wasn’t really heated until Kyle acted like Kyle always does and said he didn’t hit him, but then in an interview later he admitted to not only hitting him but he did it on purpose! So my question is where is the fine for Kyle?
I actually just saw another angle of the video and Ricky’s dad was pulling Kyle off of Ricky while other members were pulling Ricky away, and Kyle was the one that punched his dad several times, I still haven’t seen his dad punch Kyle?

Dad not being able to be there for the next however many races hurts him the most. The crew that can’t be for however many races hurts them. Here is the fix. Instead of Nascar instigating drama, they black flag the driver who wrecks somebody.

I personally think the $75,000 fine is excessive. I also think that Ricky’s father hard card should have been pulled for the rest of the season. Lastly I think NASCAR should of grabbed Ricky Stenhouse after his interview and called him into the principals office and not let him leave until after the race and had a NASCAR official walk him to his vehicle with the warning that if even think about taking a swing at Bush that Mr Stenhouse will find out what coming down on you like ugly on an ape. Additionally if I were NASCAR I would of told Kyle and Richard Childress and Ricky and Brad Daugherty will be at Jim Frances office at 9:09 AM Monday morning and then Jim France take a page from Big Bill play book and chew them a new butt hole. As for the crew members yes a two race suspension is fair.
Lastly the Bull Manure coming from NASCAR about the justification for the penalties looked and sounded moronic.
I fully agree with Dale Jr with Ricky should appeal the fine and if they don’t drop the fine to 15 or 20 Thousand dollars then first off start selling Pay My NASCAR Fine shirts with half the proceeds going to pay his fine and the other half going to US Olympic Boxing Team

@gullreefclub while 75k is excessive they did fine matt crafton 25k in the truck series for the exact same thing and the cup series is the elite of nascar and make about 4x the money that the truck series make but at least there "trying" to be consistent

I very much disagree with both of you. Stenhouse is always a menace and his luck ran out. It was the first lap where Stenhouse forced his way in there, I wish they fined Stenhouse more!

Dale you forgot about Bubba. He assaulted another driver and got no fine for it what so ever

Bunch of suit at the top not knowing what they're doing this is why our sport struggles. The fact that jr can set there and make perfect since is why people like him should run nascar and not these money hungry suits.
