  • Homeschooling this week...I'm trying to push through.....
    I haven't left the bed today but feel maybe slightly better. As I write this, it's day 4 of stuffing myself with iron rich foods. I don't want to record the next lesson because I tried and I looked so tired, sick, and pale. Hopefully you guys are ok if I come out with it on Friday. If it's not here til Sunday just know im probably not feeling well enough. Do you all have experience with anemia? I'm trying to convince myself to be still...

    Cook with cast iron pans, it transfers to the food. At least that's what the nutritionist told me. Feel better soon.

    Ok I am saying to you take care of yourself and the school can wait for one to two days, because you're girls need you around ok,,everything can wait, ok GOD BLESS and GOD will take care of your body ,but you have to eat good food for your body ok, take a day or two off,ok love you my sister 🤗😴💃

    As a South African, I am searching high and low for lessons online on teaching Montessori like style from African parents and you are my favourite. I'm even more impressed as I'm a climate financial specialist to hear you incorporate environmental lessons in your parenting. I don't know what I'm saying, I guess that I'm happy you and I are aligned in 2 ways.

    Omg same here, it use to be so bad for me I would faint. Once u find iron u like take it with orange juice the vit c helps absorb iron, feel better mama ❤️‍🔥

    sorry you do not feel well!
    avoid any milk products, sugar, processed food and coffee.this will block iron absorbtion take also vitamin c(ascorbic acid powder) and Mg.they both help Fe to be absorbed better.
    cooking with a cast iron pan is a great ideea. the only thing is that you have to make sure it is indeed a pure iron pan and that it does not contain any other metals that could be poisoned.

    Honestly if you feel that tired you need to make an appointment with your PCP have blood work done asap. Low iron can serious and lasting effects on your body.

    Sorry to hear about the anemia. I’ve had issues with anemia too. Glad you got the liver. That’s what my grandmother used to give me. Also, some good Jamaican callaloo. The dark chocolate is good too! Hope you feel better soon!

    Feel Better, Soon. Remember, you come first; you can't pour from an empty cup. If you don't find liver, dark leafy vegetables are a good substitute, especially spinach.

    Hey Akeeba, I'm sorry you aren't feeling well, but you are so admirable. Your still doing so much. I have sickle cell and feel like that a lot of times, but then I'd get blood work and my iron is fine, so 🤷🏾‍♀️ what it is. Anyway, idk how you do it. Your amazing. Also, the sun thing is also very true for me. My husband love being in the dark, but if I am away from natural light too much, I get depressed and irritable. He says I'm withering like a flower. Feel better soon🤗

    I be so exhausted bout to vomit and heart palpatations... u did good girl. My iron levels be in range but on the low side but my reserves ( ferritin) levels be low. Praying for u and every other woman who goes through this. Docs just tell me to take ferrous sulfate 325 with orange juice for a couple months. Its tough out here, but WE ARE TOUGHER.

    Floradix kept me from having an iron transplant while pregnant with my 5th baby. Seems like the iron issue gets worse with each child or maybe age. Anyone else have an opinion on that?

      I know the floradix works because I both that straight through my sister in law pregnancy.

    Plan for these breaks. Just like you plan for homeschool. Your body is telling you that it needs immediate adjustment, so schedule it in, wrote naps down in your planner. Plan in time to give your self more rest and nourishment.

    Stopping by to say pray you are feeling better. The things you purchased will help you it just may take a couple of days. Since being pescatarian I became vitamin D deficient and already had an iron deficiency. I take those supplements daily now. When I forget and start to feel bad I can always pinpoint that I forget. My body feels horrible when that happens. I get weak and sleep too much. Please just take care of yourself with all the great things you have going on.     AG1 or Mary Ruth vitamins are very good. Maybe one of these brands of vitamins could help you. Hope you feel better soon❤️

    I came across an article today about the benefits of eating quail eggs. The publix in my local area sells them. Would not be surprised if Whole Foods carries them as well. They increase hemoglobin and have twice the amount of iron as chicken eggs and many other increased nutrients.

    I do know the feeling , I just had a new baby and my energy level was so low , even while taking the vitamins , I heard about B12 n after taking it I started to feel more energetic.

    Nettle Tea!!
    Nettle is a source of iron, vitamin C, vitamin A and even folate. One of the reasons it's used to increase iron is because the presence of vitamin C makes it a very absorbable source of iron as vitamin C helps increase iron absorption.

    I be feeling the same way. I can't cook the country food that I use to eat when I was little because my Puertoricain lover is so very time I cook. I miss country food, I don't want spanish food all the time.

    My prayers for you and your family. Hoping you get better soon. I was very anemia. I need to take 3 iron pills a day. But for 2 weeks I would have lentils soup for breakfast. Add
    chopped tomato 🍅 , onion 🧅 , and with lime juice, and coriander🌿

    Yes anemia sucks. Get some rest, take a supplement to get you up quick then stop and eat iron rich foods more often

    I'm severely anemic due to my vegetarian lifestyle for past 18 yrs. Can't even give blood. I take ferrous sulfate. Probably would pass out if I didn't take supplements. I just keep pushing through cause taking off from work is not an option. I thank God He gives me strength. Btw u do know caffeine blocks iron absorption. Take vitamin C and magnesium with your iron supplement.

    If you pull down your lower eye skin and look at the blood in your lower eye, if it is pale then, yes you need iron, if it's rich in blood, you're OK. My mother taught me this. Liver is great, especially calf liver. Also rare steak or cook a London broil in the oven, rare. Less veggies, more meat. Be careful of which iron supplement you get.

    Just put the liver in a bowl of roomy temperature water, change the water, say every 10 minutes. It should thaw out in about half an hour.

    You don't need fresh liver. You can order dessicated liver tablets. They are mostly inexpensive too and extremely good for this.

    As an anemic vegetarian I drink Floradix liquid iron everyday. It makes a difference, I can tell on days I skipped it. It's better absorbed than iron capsules and tablets. It's boosted when I drink orange juice and avoid milk Around the time I drink them.

    HAVE YOU TRIED SEAMOSS AND BLADERWACK. I KNOW PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT HOW DR. SIBE MADE IT POPULAR BUT IT HAS A LOT OF IRON AND OTHER MINERALS.

    Please try beetroot juice or smoothie or boil and chop and add pomegranate syrup with lettuce. You will never feel dizzy
