I tried this. To me, the results were awful. This was a bad idea for me. I thought it made my plastic look terrible. And I would advise everyone to avoid doing it.
Least damaging? If I can’t clean without causing damage I just don’t do it. My only issue is my rear fender has some minuscule swirl scratches which I have yet to address. Thing is that part is so inexpensive I am likely to just buy a new one instead of try to repair. I suspect 3M Perfect-It foam polishing pad glaze might remove swirls.
i got a 2006 dirt bike and the graphics is starting to fall off since its been there for so long so i was going to remove the graphics and only drive with the plast and then i saw it was a weird color like yellow, how do i clean that?
I got a '97 CR80 on Friday. Today I used a razor blade to scrape off the yellow and I just watched this video. *facepalm To begin with, the plastics were really scraped up anyways.
I have yet to try this on the moto... but whitewater kayakers get lot's of abrasions on their boats. The trick is to take a 100% cotton t-shirt and stretch it over a buffing pad. Then buff the scratches out. Use high-speed. The cotton is slightly abrasive. It will heat up and melt a very fine top layer of plastic that will give a combination of removing and filling abrasions and scratches. Obviously, try it in a small area first... YMMV.
loved this video. Best part was when I googled "how to clean white KTM plastics" this came up first!
What's the chance lol. I just bought a 04 KTM 250sx and was searching how to clean it.
Thanks mate! You deserve 100k subs great content
I appreciate that!
Big Love From The UK Tanner 👌
Did someone say camping? Lol have fun and be safe bro!
You said Wayne....are you talking Wayne national in Ohio...great place I'm in Ohio been there many times...
Coat the under side of ur fenders with WD-40 when u know ur about to go through a bunch of mud so it won't stick near as bad too.😉
Genius
I use a strip of sponge, the dirt never sticks.
Or spray and wipe with a ceramic clean and polish product.
You can also use a mister clean magic eraser with soapy water
I love the fuel filler valve you used, can you tell me the brand of that? One finger operation looks super easy to control.
Had street triple r for 9 years and never washed it😂apart from the odd baby wipe.should really get round to it 🙄
Have fun on the camping trip
you use wd40 as your lube? i clean with it but i use gear oil after i dont feel like wd40 keeps it covered long enough

should probably work on a sport bike as well
Absolutely! Most metal parts are pretty easy to clean, just like you would clean a car.

I use silicon
Flasher relay

Anybody know how to remove small scratches to make it look like new from plastic

I don't agree. Any oil is going to make the surface look slick. Temporary fix.
Temporary fix or not, it looks better.
Just did it and the dirt uplifted out of the plastics onto my rag so no it isn’t temporary
Damn your 250l looks strait clapped lolol.. btw airbox mod, 13t front, and ejk with gutted muffler makes bike actually come up in second.
I hate how the smell of WD40 stays on your hands for days no matter how much I wash them! But it worked really well here.
Rubber gloves
What’s up with that hair? 😭😭
Mr clean magic erasers and you don’t even need wd40.
Definitely works but will dull the shine of new plastics
Attention Deficit so does the Ed-40 collect more dirt??
Bro you should try one of the Mr clean magic eraser. They work good on white plastics
A magic eraser with straight water, soapy water, simple green, or what?
