Thomas Wooden Railway Layout - Seasons 14/15 Layout (2017)

- Here's the layout that was used for Seasons 14 and 15 of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends Wooden Railway Adventures. This layout was a special one because I put all of my destinations and locations in order based on the television series map that's linked below. Essentially, what you're looking at was a pretty accurate wooden railway version of the actual Island of Sodor. Hope you all like the video and thanks for watching! :)

Man, this takes me back, unfortunately I lost my Thomas Wooden Railway stuff in a fire but oh the fun I had as a kid, always wished I still had it. Glad to see that they are still making and people are still having fun with them and making new stories. I am incredibly impressed by your collection, if I may say a little jealous lol, keep it up and keep the legacy alive for all of us!
That layout is simply tremendous! And the fact that it's actually based on the map of the Island of Sodor and that every locations were taken into account really makes it stand out. Needless to say you nailed to represent each and every of them and your personal touches bring a very nice feel to the layout itself. Keep up the great work Keekre!

I have two questions:
If you feel comfortable saying so, how much do you think you've spent on TWR items?
And how many hours did you spend making this layout?
To be honest, I have no idea how much money I've spent over the years but it has to be at least a few thousand dollars. And this layout took a REALLY long time to build - like at least 30 or 35 hours total (but obviously not all in a row - that would be crazy!).

So I noticed on that map, it said Edwards Branch line was the only way to get to Brendam Docks, but the tv series has large engines like Gordon appear at the docks. Does that just mean that Edwards Branchline is capable of supporting larger engines as opposed to Thomas' branch line?
This is a truly incredible layout and has small details from the specials like Hiro's hideaway and the great race engines and it looks truly amazing , but I only have one question where is Crovansgate ?
Thanks for the kind words! Crovan's Gate is actually called the Steamworks on this layout because that's what the CGI series of Thomas and Friends calls it. :P It's located over by Vicarstown Station and Henry's Tunnel.

This has to be the best layout you've ever done. You took the best things from all your other layouts and made them even better by basing the layout off of the Sodor Map. I really can't wait for Season 14 of your series. I have a couple of questions for you though if you don't mind me asking.
1. Why are you not using 2017 Stanley in your series? I'm not against using the original, I just want to know why you want to use the original.
2. Will you ever have the Blue Mountain Quarry in your layout? It seems like every layout you do, there's like one major Sodor landmark added to your series. The only one you don't have yet is Blue Mountain Quarry. Since you have Luke pulling BMQ cars, it would make sense to have the actual place. You could use the Merrick set and that one set by TOMY from 2012.
3. Have you heard of Rosie's redesign for Season 21? If Wooden Railway makes a version of cherry red Rosie, will you get it and use it in your series instead of the old one.
4. Will you ever replace Charlie and D199 with their Mattel/CGI versions? I'm only asking cause I know that you have them because they were in your collection video in the extra engines section. I know they may look too similar to be worth changing but you did that with Den and Dart and changing their models is better than changing Emily's model. Everyone knows she's a useless token female character.
5. Why do you not like the Great Race characters. I think someone like MPS said why but I don't remember at the top of my head. I personally like them.
6. Will you use that Yong Bao model in your series? I thought you didn't like using custom engines.
Anyways, enough rambling. Great layout and vid. Hope you see this and reply.
1. I will introduce the new 2017 version of Stanley in an upcoming episode of my series but until then, I'm going to keep using his current model.
2. If I ever end up getting that Merrick set, I would have no problem incorporating the BMQ. Right now, I don't have any BMQ destinations to make that area of the layout so that's why it hasn't appeared yet.
3. If Rosie does get a new wooden railway model, I'll probably buy it but I'll have to see what it looks like. If it's not as good as the old one, then I won't use it.
4. I really like D199's second version that's always been used in my series - his first and third versions aren't bad but I feel like my current one is the best. I actually did use CGI Charlie on this layout but it's hard to tell since he was facing away from the camera in the Yard. ;)
5. It's not that I don't like The Great Race characters in wooden form - it's that I don't have any good roles for them in my series right now so I don't know what to do with them. They're just taking up space on the layout but I wanted to include them otherwise people would ask where they were.
6. I've never used custom engines before but that could be changing here soon! I feel like Wong Village's Yong Bao is really good so if I ever introduce TGR engines, I'll probably include him.

Wish I could see a time-lapse video of your layout being built. Starting from the empty room, to the finished layout. Maybe in a future-layout video (and just attach it to the end of a layout video with a little added music.)

Don't we see Thomas and Percy parked on those 2 terminal lines at Knapford talking about Mr. Conductor while Diesel 10 listens in during a scene from Thomas and the Magic Railroad?
I see that you used the Sam Wilkinson map of Sodor. Have you ever considered making a classic series map of Sodor, basically from seasons 1-7? If you want to do it for a future layout, check out Unlucky Tug's videos about the Sodor map.
