This is a very good camera for creatives …but is it too old??
The R is still a great camera, even though I have upgraded, I still use the R

My cousin works for vogue and he told me he used to see a lot of R canon caneras on professional sets in december 2023... that says something about the R model.

I am looking to buy a Sony A7III and a GoPro 12. Canon kind of disappointed me, Loved this review though!
+@mihaelaclaudiap..2595 thank you appreciate it 😊 the higher up canon cameras a great but cost a lot and their lenses are expensive…Sony a73 has very good image quality superb all rounder (doesn’t cost much these days) but doesn’t have a full articulating screen especially for the type of content you are producing unless you have someone to help you film then it’s a very good choice. I would suggest the Sony a7iv or Panasonic lumix s5 ii are better hybrid full frame cameras or if you want to save money then go for likes of Sony a6700 or Panasonic G9 ii which have much more affordable lens selection perfect for independent filmmaking 👌🏼
I’m gonna buy one but the r8 cost almost the same now on canon website bro. So much options for my empty wallet 😂
R8 has a better sensor, very good video specs, a Good choice! However if your a photographer first the EOS R has superior build quality with better weather sealing, and better ergonomics( bigger grip) has big batteries and a dedicated battery grip, better evf and lcd panel, also has 30mp. Preowned the EOS R can be found at very low price.
The R8 is nice, you just better have 6 batteries lying around as the R8 batteries are tiny and go super fast.

@@ItzSi meaning that there's no "pro" or "beginner" camera, the results are dictated by the user, difference in pixels, color or frame rate are almost meaningless
+@AlexStudioPhobic I understand what you mean, the person behind the camera makes the difference, however there are Beginner cameras and pro level cameras…Most camera companies including Canon / Sony /Panasonic label their cameras in these categories for a reason. Pro meaning has features that geared towards the working professional like 4K/8K 10bit video, raw video, high frame rate shutter, bigger batteries, dual card slots that take fast expensive cards etc and tactile buttons and list can go on… example A cinematographer will want flat profile with 10 bit in a camera, a sports photographer will want a robust weather resistant camera, with a fast shutter that can shoot really fast frame rates etc and fast autofocus, commercial photographers that enlarge their images will need a high mega pixel camera.
