    So happy I found this. Love the way u clearly point out what Not to pick up. I've watched some tutorials and still couldn't figure out which bit to pick up. Thank you

    Just what I was looking for! I am putting together some squares from an Afghan my mother started but never could complete because of failing eyesight. She has since passed away and I want to finish the Afghan for me but I wanted to seam it the same way she did. I am so happy I found the answer to how to do it here. I knew it wasn’t a mattress stitch but that is all I knew. I do enjoy your videos and find them very helpful. Thank you!

    lovely ... who knew the bottom bar top bar mantra? I am working on a whole bunch of garter patches to make into a slipper and going crazy because they show up sometimes cast on to cast on, others on diagonal, and knitting for so many years never thought this much about seaming, but this can easily look jumbled so your tips are very well received and appreciated. As always your instructions are super clear and you ahead of time anticipate and answers my questions so I thank you profusely.

    I like the v pattern that it makes. I was thinking that if you made a few garter stitch squares and stitched them together with this pattern you could make a really fun bag.

      What a great idea, Chris! I'm thinking - stripes in different colours - perfect for summer :-)

    What type of needle are you using in this video? I like it and I think it would make seaming easier for my old hands

      Hello Susan. I use stainless steel wool needle that I've got from Knitca yarn store. It is the bigger of the two needles in this set - www.knitca.com/steel-wool-needles/

    Brilliant could I use this way to sew a baby cardigan together please

    • @10rowsaday
      @10rowsaday  Před 5 lety +1

      Of course. This seam doesn't create any extra bulk at the seam, so it's perfect for baby clothing. Happy seaming :-)

    It was hard to see you pointing out the stitch as you had the other swatch right under it. If you had moved that and had the blue background it would have been a lot clearer

      So sorry about that. I try to keep the workspace clear but sometimes I'm not that successful at it. This technique is also explained in a step-by-step photo tutorial. You can read it at www.10rowsaday.com/seam-garter-stitch

    It would be better if you zoomed in closer. It's difficult to see exactly what stitches you are working in!! Just friendly advice!!!
